About Nielsen Ratings

Rating: Estimated percentage of U.S. TV viewers (demographics, households, etc.) tuned in to a specific television program during an average minute.

Methods: As of September 22, 2025, the numbers above are calculated using Live+Same Day Big Data + Panel viewing and DVR playback, defined as 3:00 a.m. – 3:00 a.m., and are courtesy of Nielsen.

Starting in early 2026, Nielsen introduced the Advertising Research Foundation’s Latency Adjusted DASH UE (Universe Estimate) survey into its reporting, and as of August 31, 2026, the service has made “key enhancements” to improve its accuracy by correcting timing delays in survey data. Universe estimates are, as the name implies, an approximation of the total number of households or persons in a particular category – in this case, media consumption capabilities of U.S. homes. While previous DASH UEs were based on 2024 survey data, Nielsen is now updating them to reflect more recent trends in consumer behavior.  

Shift: Beginning August 31, 2020, national ratings include Out-of-Home (OOH) viewing. Previously, ratings did not include OOH viewing. Averages are based on regular telecasts.

Yay!!! I am so happy for BTG. I can't wait to see the rest of the numbers.

Good week for all the shows, especially BTG. This week it had higher ratings in both demos than it had in any week of the 2025/26 season.

Per TheTVRatingsGuide source, General Hospital’s video streaming ranking via Hulu. During the week of Oct 4- 10. 2026: Sun 10/4: #13; Mon 10/5: #15; Tues 10/6: #2; Wed 10/7: #3; Thurs 10/8: #7; Fri 10/9: #8 and Sat 10/10: #8.

What happened on Fri., October 9, to cause all the soap numbers to drop so much?

While we currently do not have Households and Total Viewers, I can honestly say that the combined averages over the last two weeks and the newest week (yet to be published), Beyond the Gates is finally turning in numbers on par with how it performed during the first month or two following its premiere in 2025 in both Women 18-49 and Women 25-54.
