I'm finally watching last week's Real Housewives of Atlanta and Gizelle showed up and mentioned she was in town (Atlanta) filming for the soap opera Beyond the Gates! Loved the shoutout!

At the start of the show it was established that Dani married Bill at 19 and that they were married for 30 years so that would put that character at 50-51 years old. Not a common thing, but still belivable enough to be written in.

Its established. Shes at least 51. She met Bill when she was 19 and they were married for 30 years. She was 49/50 when the show began last Feb

IA would like to see her pregnant bc both men would want that baby. Bill to have his son and Andre to have the child he gave up on wanting when he married her. There's interesting drama there with Dani being put in a position to have an abortion or not. Ultimately I think bc of her age, it should result in a miscarriage but not before her secret is exposed and they are left to pick up the pieces of her mess

I can see this.

They could indeed pull of a late in life pregnancy story for Dani and I wouldn't hate it. But I doubt it.

So Dani married at 19. Did she give up modelling immediately? Because 19 seems very young for her to be the acclaimed international model that they speak of. How old is Naomi supposed to be?

So am I the only one who wasn't sure if Dani and Bill went all the way? It looked to me like they were making out and then had stopped when the lights came on and that's the secret that Dani wants to keep. Now I can see that Bill was rearranging his tie on Friday but Dani looked clothed, so I thought they only fooled around. It's still cheating so it doesn't really matter for story purposes but I was not thinking pregnancy, TBH.

Both Naomi Cambell and Tyra Banks both reached supermodel status before they were 20.

Thats the story they've been telling us. She may have done a little gig here nad there but she walked away from her career when she decided to become Bill's wife

I watched the episode again and now it just seems ambiguous to me, but then on the previews it seems like it may have just been a big make-out session. I mean why would Vanessa ask her if she was going to tell Andre.

From my memory (which could be wrong): I think it was mentioned in dialogue during first few months of the show - that Dani had become a famous model as a teen, something about her leaving high school (maybe going to New York?). Something about Anita realizing that it was useless to oppose Dani, or something implied along those lines.

Sorry to be vague and imprecise. This was more my impression of what I viewed, how it struck me, but not an exact quote.
It would be interesting for me to rewatch now and see if I perceived it correctly.

Well after all the delays...and sleep is about to be another one...hehe. I'll be able to start the crossover later today.

But I did want to say something about the week before so...

I did miss the Hawthornes focused episode unfortunately. It does seem like they are going to build on SPS vs Darlene though and potential drama for Eva and Izaiah. And goodness knows they need some.

Even without that, though I felt that the show surprisingly has managed to keep its momentum after the cotillion. While I don't care for the Impaler, I can admit that the buildup to the reveal of his/her identity has been good (Sidenote...I was just thinking that sometimes the show forgets how close Vanessa and Randy are due to Doug...so I liked it was referenced on 6-5). I also continue to like that Derek's death has not been just forgotten, either. And I loved the flashback episode as a tool to pivot the audience (hopefully) to the next turn in the Hayley storyline as well as the next turn in what the show should be focused on within that partly...the hot, hot, hot Bill/Dani/Andre triangle. Even got a Friday cliffhanger. hehe.

Because I can't say this enough...I love that with Derek's death, we are getting more than Bland Vanilla's POV on that. I surprisingly loved the Eva and Ted scenes about that. It was nice to see Eva out of Cartoon Leslie's orbit and being allowed to feel. And then you have Jacob. Poor Jacob. It was nice to FINALLY see some POV on how he feels about his best friend dying. And I really enjoyed Naomi checking her 'other husband' Ashley because we were all discussing how hypocritical Ashley has been in regardless to Derek and Grayson...and only a REAL friend would call it out. And while I'm in the minority and do want to see Grayson and Ashley find their way back to each other, I could care less about her feelings on Derek. Give me Jacob's. Give me Eva. And you can right on continue to give me Shanice's feelings as well...another standout when it comes to Derek.

So what game is the Impaler planning? Or should I be asking the writers? All that build-up to a classic Friday cliffhanger where we don't even see a face. shakes fist at writers

And the flashback episode was my favorite of the week. To see more of Hayley's life (and to see so she really is--like Doug and Randy--from Philly. So now I wonder if she really has family out there since her story was always she was an orphan). I really enjoyed the filling in the blanks that was going on. I really enjoyed the various (and consistent) POV on Hayley. I barely picked up on a plothole. Very interesting that originally Hayley was going to try to con Joey. And it was great to see Dani and Andre acting like Dani and Andre with complete communication between them like the couple they are. And that reveal of the affair scene...Ooooo Karla...she did layers in seconds...and watching Dani shatter. Smh. It was just so good. And I just felt it was needed because it does appear the writers are finally going to put the Hayley storyline back on the frontburner so a history lesson, recap of stakes, etc. was needed. My only question is...WHEN? Since BTG seems to be on a roll...I would say Hayley getting exposed is next month's main event. But...we'll see.

And of course there were C plots, too. I find Shanice's Aunt to be a good new addition so all the scenes in the CoS storyline that leads to her has been organic and good. In a way, it helped with the other C plot of Nicole's reawakened (?) feelings for Ted.

Hm. Nicole and Ted. I hate to say it, but as much as I found the start of it silly, I am suspecting I am coming around to it due to it being slow and logically organic. Because Nicole just rushed herself into the divorce and her two men without properly processing it...which a lot of you said all along. So it doesn't seem far-fetched. Especially after Nicole's talk with Anita. Even Shanice and Nicole's scenes are taking on another layer now which made me go uh oh. And it's been a year since the anniversary party so it's long enough for the writers to tease Nicole and Ted again just like they are teasing Bill and Dani again. It's just...it's TED. I don't care for Ted...even if the writing is subverting my expectations. He's...a wuss.

That said...I do continue to feel invested. I just hope the writers don't lose their momentum now that they have a good amount of it.

I don't think it matters if Bill and Dani went all the way or not. Dani was wrong a long time ago when she kissed her jackal of an ex-husband three separate times but told Andre it happened only once.
