BTG: June 2026 Discussion Thread

I know we can't have these types of episodes every day, but I think today was the best BTG episode they've produced so far. Now, let's hope there's some real fallout from all of this.

I will never stop beating the drum of what a horrible, off-putting, and irrelevant character Ashley is, and what a boring actress Jen Jacob is (she can’t rise above the horrible writing for her charac

  • I personally don't think that disliking White Savior Joey is an indication the character is working. If it's a choice between King Joey and Duprees Strong, I choose neither.

  • There is nothing remotely scary or dangerous about the portrayal of Joey. Literally everything he says is dripping with sarcasm and zero menace. Also the writing of Joey as just the smartest person th

What an episode. Sadly I was working while I was watching so I have to do a rewatch which I haven’t done for the show since last year, that’s how much I enjoyed. To get the cotillion, plasma ring, and tornado back to back like this has given the show the absolute jolt that it needed.

Gotta admit, I haven't enjoyed an episode this much in a while.

Great job, to everybody involved in it 👍👍

I. Was. Riveted.

I haven't seen this level of soapy goodness and intrigue in over 20 years. Seriously. I realize that group scenes with a lot of cast members is a logistical challenge (perhaps technology has eased the strain) but the payoff can be worthwhile when the execution comes off as well as today's episode did.

I have a suspicion of where I believe Eva is headed but I think I might keep that suspicion to myself.👀

As for Dani and Bill, what if the doors should suddenly open? I guess we shall see. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Seeing some vulnerability in Anastasia was a good touch. She's a character I would really like to know more about, especially after that odd scene where (I think?) Martin was kind of slack-jawed when he heard she had donated to his campaign and Vernon (if I remember correctly?) kind of chuckled. I wondered whether Anastasia's family may have had history with Vernon's family that spans generations.

I wonder if this was a one-off between Hailey and Kyle? Those scenes were interesting at least and it was a nice touch to tap into Kyle's party boy past, while showing a playful side of Hayley. And it was cool to try to figure out whether Hayley was sizing up another 'mark' or looking for a lover on the side.

The execs and producers by now, would have figured out that Wednesday and Thursdays have been some of their lowest rated episodes, so it seems they are at least making attempts to try to shift that dynamic and that's a good thing.

It's been a looooong time since I have been keen to "tune in tomorrow" and find out what happens next but I probably won't wait until Saturday or Sunday, I might actually tune in tomorrow.

Very good to hear. I am looking forward to sitting down for the crossover.

Oh I bet I know your suspicion cuz if it is what I think it is (and long debated and discussed) heads will explode. ;)

The biggest thing about having some of the Y & R characters crossing over to me is that it shows that BTG is too Dupree centric with very few of the characters not being related to one another.

Hayley was her most interesting these past two episodes because she was interacting with someone new and who she had chemistry with. I would welcome the Bill/Dani hook up as a welcome chance of Hayley canceling her poisoning and divorcing him and demanding money. Then she leaves BTG and comes on over to Y & R. This wouldn't be the first time that happened and I think Hayley would thrive over at Y & R.

The Diane and SPS/Leslie scene was pretty good... Jack and Joey getting along with one another was interesting.. Chelsea/Abby had good friendship chemistry.. Dani/Diane bonding over modeling was good.. Victor/Vernon/Anita had good scenes with one another.. and Martin/Kyle had a good scene as well.

What BTG needs are more characters that aren't Dupree's to broaden the canvas. And Lauren needs to cross over since Fenmore's is carrying Chelsea's purse line and a business interaction with her, Chelsea, and Kat would be organic.

I do agree that it's unsustainable to focus almost exclusively on one family but other than the occasional 2-3 episodes cameo, I wouldn't want characters imported from other soaps. I'm okay with the occasional crossover (it lends interest) but after a few episodes, I suspect, it would become ordinary and possibly stale. Mona, Laura, Anatasia and Chessie, June, the other Hawthorne brother, even Deanna and Donnell...there is storyline to be created for these characters and skilled writers can do this.

Even though Mishael Morgan did snag that Emmy at Y&R, Hilary Curtis was mostly wasted on Y&R and to me, Amanda just doesn't match up. I think, ultimately Hailey would be wasted, possibly even worse at Y&R, especially under Josh Griffith's pen.

Having these stories featuring an event is great but ideally, the event should kick off other storylines and I hope that is what happens here and I hope they branch out. I am hoping that we get to see what, if anything happened at Orphey Gene's because there is a group of other characters there that could be made interesting.

It was pretty funny when they were going over the list of missing people and it was the Duprees and Genoa City people. No one else matters!

Absolutely. Some of those characters have piqued my interest and have layers to unpeel.

Good point. I am definitely not going to complain because I'm sure these episodes broke the budget enough, but it would be great to see how this affects the lower class characters like June, because she has so much less to lose than the people at the fancy party.

Well we could always use more Have-Nots.

I am still behind, but I see they had someone loosen those purse strings for this event. It feels like a classic PG soap event for sure.

I am sure that this event will have a ripple effect, sorta like the 1992 blackout on GL which accelerated several stories. I do think the writers on BTG are good at pushing forth big ideas and where we want stories to go, it is the journey that sometimes needs more developing.
