Thanks, @Errol and @Liberty City , for your explanations!

I must admit I find it highly charitable of Amell to "take one for the team," as it were, regarding the failure of "Suits L.A." However, I think the show failed, because TPTB overestimated the demand for "Suits" to return in any form. I read stories about people rediscovering "Suits" on streaming during the pandemic and whatnot, but I always suspected those stories were blowing things out of proportion, making it seem as if more people were falling in love (or falling in love again) with the original series than there actually were.

Thank you for the quotes @Errol and @Liberty City

During some of his Arrow interviews (and bts leaks/gossip) he irked me, so I haven’t given him or his shows much of a chance. I do think Baywatch was of a specific time and place. But then again, it holds some thematic parallels with the 911 franchise, so maybe a pure trash version will find an audience. I will gladly look at the rest of the cast photos when the marketing kicks in!

That's fantastic! Who the hell is Derek Yates?

😂😂😂

He played Kerry and had scenes with Leo and Javi.

I think there was a genuine surge in interest in Suits. It was high on the charts for a while and the two male leads did some ads (I think a cell phone company). That may have just been down to the strike, but there was some support. If they were going to bring the show back they probably should have had some of the original cast pop up for more than a cameo. Beyond that, I did see a number of people blame Amell's character (along with the writing) as they felt the character and performance were both poor.

Amell should have been a lead in the sense that he was added to the cast to replace someone like Meghan Markle, who would not have returned. Otherwise, I agree, it should have been a reboot with the original cast as leads. Otherwise, there was no reason to bring it back, since it only became popular under the old characters.
