The first 'Thursday' episode. On actual Thursday. lol. But it was a nice break from the Anita's Cancer storyline. There was so much character development/plot set-up going on.
The plasma ring storyline that's emerging gave us a name. The Impaler. Doesn't appear to be connected to Joey, but he knows sum thangs. lol. I liked that it appeared to be a slow build. I like that it appears to be a Jacob storyline. And it seems like we are going to get another round of Jacob/Smitty which was a great team-up last year.
Speaking of people getting stories...Vanessa and that client's husband! Well, it's nice to see that building into something. For too long, Vanessa has been acting weak to me so seeing her slowly getting back to herself and dealing with some actual drama vs relationship drama is fine with me.
I liked that we got to continue the cliffhanger from Nicole seeing Shanice and Ted. I don't know what to say. I know it has been discussed about building relationships on this show. And outside of Dani and Andre, it has been light or disjointed. I didn't like it at first, but I will say we did get to see Ted and Shanice grow. So them sleeping together felt earned. And no slapsticky 'everything but the kitchen sink' stall tactics, either. And Nicole also having her own storyline will never not put a smile on my face.
Dani, Dani, Dani. I can't with her. Not because I don't love her. But...le sigh. She has Andre. She don't need Bill. And this episode felt like there was no struggle with her resisting Bill at all on her end. Ugh. And now Tomas done seem them, too? Messy! Sidenote...Tomas suuuure is building up on finding out little secrets. Finally, Hayley. Now, Bill. Where is THAT going? Hmmm.
An episode of B and C stories, but it says something about how confident the writers feel that it just flowed really well.
