Does anyone just call the train the Cane Train? I feel like it's right there.

Ah... Chancellor Park. Now when I go to a park you usually see dog owners, mom's with babies or pre schoolers, people exercising, maybe some older folk reading on a bench or just relaxing...

But I GC it's where business people randomly meet up during the work day in the same cramped spot.

On Friday Nikki is at the ranch and then somehow ends up at the park.

Just ridiculous.

I could not have said it better.  Crimson Lights, GCAC, and Society playing the same corny background music while two characters are sitting at a table drinking coffee or cocktails.  I don't know how Crimson Lights remains open.  It's always empty.  It's a complete snoozefest.

Sharon’s former in laws and their spawn keep it open. Her only customers are people her kids are related to or one of her many exes.

Sharon is using that Newman money from her divorces (and Abbott, too). Maybe Esther is helping bankroll? Although, the Newmans and the Abbotts surely pay a pretty penny to have their talks there, too.

I decided to track the sets used on Y&R this week, and I think it confirms our strong belief that it is a problem. Here's the set usage day by day:

Mon., 9/1:    Crimson Lights / The Abbotts / Society / Chancellor Park  -- 4 sets

Tues., 9/2:   Crimson Lights / The Abbotts / Society / The Newmans  -- 4 sets

Wed., 9/3:   The Abbotts / Society / Chancellor Park / Billy's -- 4 sets

Thurs., 9/4:  Crimson Lights / Society / The Newmans / Cane's Train -- 4 sets

Fri., 9/5: Crimson Lights / Chancellor Park / Victor's office / Adam's office -- 4 sets

For the week:

4 days  -- Crimson Lights / Society

3 days -- Chancellor Park / The Abbotts

2 days -- The Newmans

1 day -- Billy's / Cane's Train / Victor's office / Adam's office

THIS is what anyone considers to be acceptable? 9 sets used on 5 episodes? And only 4 sets per day?

And remember, many of these daily scenes were of two people sitting at a table or at a bar or standing at a coffee counter -- not exactly scintillating television.

I just realized I forgot to include Billy's bedroom, maybe because I want to erase the image of Billy and Sally screwing from my eyes.

Very interesting, thanks! I swear GH uses more than 4 sets just during one segment, and might use as many as 9 in an episode! B&B seems  to use 3-4 per episode and that will probably improve with the new studio. So pathetic for Y&R.

It almost slipped my mind that the Athletic Club used to have an actual gym. You know.. hence the name ATHLETIC CLUB. There were so many little things like that which made Genoa City feel like a real place, or even when characters would have those short scenes walking into Fenmores to shop.. or being at a salon to get their nails done and ofcourse it would usually somehow play into the plot but it still felt like a real day in Genoa City

Nick explaining to Phyllis how Cane plans to take over every company in Genoa City is just ridiculous.

Don't these companies have teams of lawyers? Aren't there laws to be followed? It's all so poorly written.

Phyllis is supposed to be this master hacker, but we never see her in front of an iPad, let alone in an office with a bank of computers.

SHOCKER, but I actually found myself enjoying today's episode.

I enjoyed the confrontation with Kyle & Holden. Kyle looks pathetic of course, but nonetheless it kept my attention.

I despise Phyllis and I have tried to tolerate her. The character is such a loser and is beyond useless. I am not sure what can be done to truly resurrect the character other than TPTB begging Gina Tognoni to come back. Maybe hate sex with Cane??? 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

The show is just not working with minimal sets and characters.

Tuesday teaser was Daniel and Tessa singing in the park-riveting.

Them Ms Sad Sack Mariah arrives to once again explain that she's suffering. Finally the shocking reveal -she ALMOST killed a man,

At  Crimson Lights for Claire/Kyle and his ridiculous $5mill contract not to hurt Claire.

Then back to the other fake outdoor set for Nick and Phyllis to discuss dastardly Cane. Honestly Phyllis is useless. This woman was running a hotel and now is grovelling for work from Cane.

So just 3 sets and 7 characters for the entire episode.

I do not see Tognoni going back after how she was disposed of; Griffith is very much on team Michelle Stafford, so I do not see him undoing the mess he made where that is concerned. Every ounce of character building done with Tognoni in the role was immediately undone the moment Stafford walked back into the role under Griffith's pen and production.

Is this show even worthwhile watching anymore? I read a couple recaps from this past week and it made my stomach churn….

I reported the set usage last week, so I thought I'd keep it up for the month of September. Here's the set usage for this week:

Mon., 9/8:    Crimson Lights / Billy's place / Society / Victor's office  -- 4 sets

Tues., 9/9:   Crimson Lights / Park set 1 / Park set 2 -- 3 sets

Wed., 9/10:   Crimson Lights / The Abbotts / Society / Park set 1   -- 4 sets

Fri., 9/12:  Park  set 1 / Society / Victor's office / Adam's office / Cane's Train / Billy's -- 6 sets

For the week:

4 days  -- Crimson Lights / Society

3 days -- Chancellor Park / Billy's place

2 days -- The Abbotts / Victor's office

1 day -- Cane's Train / Adam's office

In TWO FULL WEEKS, only 9 total sets have been used. NINE. Only 8 were used this week.

Here's The running total for 2 weeks:
