If Naomi ends up being the reason Smitty and Martin lose the kids, because June and Regina decide to fight to get them back, I'm all for. Would make a great conflict and unite Smitty and Martin while protecting their kids.

Leslie as Barbara's daughter would be great, but not as Vernon's. The mixing up of the Duprees is already too much. Of course, it doesn't appear Leslie has any idea, but once she finds out it will renew her rivalry with the Anita and family. Nicole being raised with wealth because of the initial girl group, but Leslie having had none of it.

I do enjoy the Dani/Bill dynamic. I hope the show brings it back around to them. I'd love to see how Hayley could mix it up with others on the show instead of being stuck in Dani's shadow.

I know opinions are mixed on the June story but I've loved it. The actress who plays June has done a great job and has helped me understand Naomi and Jacob more as people and a couple. Although I wanted a twist, I do like the simplicity of Tyrell and Samantha being her kids. I love that we're now going into our second story for Martin and Smitty and it doesn't involve them cheating on each other. An early complaint was that the show had too much cheating and this is an example of them going another route but still giving us good, family drama.

Leslie and her inheritance is just what she needed. We're getting to the point where everybody is getting sick of her and they needed to find a way to justify her place in these peoples lives. Giving her money gives her legitimate access to the country club and opens her up to new possibilities. I hope the first step is having her move into a new place.

Side Note: Bill in that brown pinstripe suit this week is the best look any male has worn since this show began. He looks damn good!

I like it also. The negativity is ridiculous in my opinion. Nothing seems to satisfy no matter what, but I digress, I'm looking forward to the Martin/Smitty reactions.

Leslie is likely connected to Barbara. They didnt have her grow up in Chicago where Barbera is from by coincidence. I'll go a step farther. Anit said she wanted the proposed album to use Barbara's remastered voice. What if she cant do that without approval from Barbara's living relative aka Leslie. Anita also go on tv and publicly stated that the Articulettes were Babara's creation that was stolen from her by someone who didnt do rightby her. What if Leslie sues for the rights to the Articulette name and gets royaltiies attached to them. I want this to be messy and for Anita to have unknowingly opened up Pandora's box when she was trying to do good

"Hey Anita. You can add an extra zero or two to that check"

I think tying Leslie into Barbara is actually a great move. It elevates her role to something tied deeper into the core and more mythic.

I'm also just here for Lady Boss Vanessa re: that story tbh. As soon as she kicked into high Guza gear so did Lindstrom IMO. She helped make him more credible in that role, though I go back and forth on Joey.

I bet Bryton James wanted to wet his britches, being asked to appear on a show that isn't as static & dull as his regular hang-out.

I really enjoyed the "doomed pizza night" and then the card game.   The guy who plays Tyrell has really grown into his role.

Shocking that everyone has suddenly decided Ashley is the only woman in the world for them. Lord Jesus, WHY?!

Poor Anita.  She's trying so hard to do the "right thing" in regards to the late, great Barbara. And now it appears she's about to financially empower the worst (but funniest) woman on the show.

-- I don't like the June storyline. Making Samantha and Tyrell June's kids is too simple, too easy. I wanted something different.

-- Shouldn't Naomi have worried about getting June off the streets and stable instead of all this investigating about the kids?

-- Instead, all in ONE DAY, we have Naomi find clues in a letter that Regina never read...June reads the letter and all her memories return....everyone decides June did the right thing giving up the kids...and to top it off, Jacob finds out with no trouble and effort at all who the kids are with. Yeah, OK.

-- Why would there be ANY question about custody at this point? Are we really getting a story where June wants them back? For what? So they can see her home on the streets? The story does not work for me. The acting has been fine, but that's it.

-- The kids' feelings should matter more than anything or anyone else. Savior Naomi won't see it that way, though.

-- Tomas was in one scene today, and AA was as terrible as usual. His line pausings are awful.

-- Does Hayley really want kids at all? And why would Bill be so interested at this point in his life about having another child?

-- I'm all for keeping Leslie on the show, but I do not want her to be the product of Vernon and Barbara. If that happens, I'm going to complain even more than usual. We don't need more cheating like that to show the Duprees are dysfunctional.

After 110 episodes, I can safely say that the show seems to be perceptive about when to feature characters and/or plots again after they spend time on the far backburner.

We all were saying how Silk Press Sheila was becoming one note and stagnating.. but today we got something new for her.. and it gave the actress something fun to sink her teeth into.

I'm still very baffled and confused over the Hayley story... and if I'm not mistaken, she had the follow up examination with Bill in the appointment with her.  Is the doctor in on her fake pregnancy ruse as well?   However, I would be lying if I said I didn't care one bit about this random and odd story arc Hayley is in right now.... I'm excited to see what will come next in this odd tale.

I'm wondering if maybe she's a product of Barbara and who ever that individual was that caused the group to break up.

The turn around on everything was absurdly quick. Regina did a complete 180 on June giving up her kids, something she deemed unforgivable. Even if June and Regina weren't on good terms, it is obvious Regina cared about those kids. While June was in no condition to raise them, I find it hard to believe she never thought of her sister but instead decided giving their custody away to the system was better. I understand that June was a user and not always in her right mind, but we are also led to believe that CPS didn't do their due diligence to track down family before just quickly giving them away in a closed adoption. These kids weren't exactly babies. They could have mentioned something to CPS. I could understand Regina having an ounce of sympathy and eventually forgiving June, but I am at a loss of how June calling CPS on herself vs a neighbor calling CPS on her is all that different when the result was these kids were gone forever. Yet, somehow Regina changed uo completely.

I hope they don't go down some weird custody battle. June called CPS on herself. She chose to give them away. She is technically unhoused and unemployed. Ty and Sam have been with Martin and Smitty for a long time now and have a good life in the grand scheme of things. By law, their input would be heavily considered if a custody battle would even happen, which is rare considering bio parents give up any rights to the child in an adoption. Besides Ty and Sam are nearly legal adults. How exciting is a custody battle for a 17 year old going to really be. Now if June and Regina want to connect with Ty and Sam fine, but otherwise this story is a miss.

I saw someone on reddit mention that it's weird that Bill is reminiscing about his kids, meanwhile Hayley is Naomi's age and I had a bit of an ohhh moment. Like I knew that, but reading it in that way just hit different.

Didn't Dante start a "smear campaign" against Barbara, claiming that she was too "ghetto" to be singing with the other three girls?  Maybe he had some deeper, more ulterior motive for wanting to 86 her from the group.

I do dislike how Naomi was painting June as doing a good thing. No she was a drug addict that called CPS on her kids whom snatched them up into the system when she had a healthy able bodied sister that loved and would have raised those kids. June gave them away and has no idea if they are well or loveed. Id be pissed at my sister if she did that to my nieces when Im right here

And yes it is ridiculous how quickly Jacob found them when the show was stressing how hard it was for Regina to do so even with a PI bc it was a closed adoption. Mind you they go adopted into the family o a very prominent congressman and for intents and purposes, Diana Ross' family. I find it hard to beleive that Regina nor any of her people wouldnt have seen them at some point. They werent hiding and all frequently go to Orphey Genes
