I'm still pretty invested in the whole Kenny ordeal.  There are still a couple of corpses floating around, a pistol, a broken marriage, a host of moral/ethical dilemmas on the police force, a sarcastic casino gangster who seems to be a loose cannon, and a formidable lawyer who knows more than he's telling.  I doubt we've heard the last of Kenny & Company.

True.  We still don't know what happened to the corpse of Kenny's brother from two years ago.  Presumably Marcel disposed of it, but where, and was it well-concealed with no identifiers?

Regarding Kenny's body in the park, Jacob wonders who it was and thinks the "next of kin" should be notified.  Jacob was ordered to stay away because the investigation is closed, but I don't think that will stop him from digging.

I agree. After all, what ever happened to the first body in the first place?

Martin keeps saying he doesn't remember how the group even covered up everything so who is to say there is not a loose end that none of them are thinking about?

I still think it has legs or a turn beyond setting up the Duprees vs Joey and Martin/Smitty fighting to get back together.

And speaking of rotation, I don't think it's bad at all. However, the choices of what they rotate is where it has grown a bit annoying. They should have been fine just rotating what has been clear as their A stories with the other plots being built into either C plots to B plots or when a B plot finally gets to be able to carry itself like an A plot.

It has been the weeks that it's nothing but B and C plots that...while entertaining...it has been slow weeks vs when they have an A story with the other plots just circling around it (with a Thursday episode with the A story in the background for a brief rest before taking center stage again on Friday). Look at Month 1 when the A story was Dani/Bill/Hayley...last month when Martin's Secret was off and running for a month or so...and of course the SilkPress storyline right up until the anniversary party. The B plot of Dani/Andre and Doug/Vanessa/Joey for example worked because it ran parallel for the most part to those A plots and they both...for better or for worse...now have legs to them where they could and have been running concurrently well IMHO.

I think Elon is capable of trying to off Jacob. When this whole story eventually wraps up that could be part of the climax. He looks at Jacob like he wants to burn him with a hot iron.

What are you thinking with the hot iron deal? Penny's evil mama from Good Times? Lol.

She drank that glass in one gulp like it was water! Drunk Dani is coming back

I think so too!

I don't really understand why she thinks this miscarriage is her fault though, it's not like she touched or pushed Hayley. Dani owes her nothing.

agreed. This was written/presented very sloppily IMO

And now Hayley is quickly admitting to Naomi that she faked it? I don't get the point of all of this, especially not knowing Hayley's POV in any of this.

@TaoboiI don't have a problem with rotating stories in terms of focus (i.e. Plot A, Plot B, etc)... but the show is still trying to figure out the timing to which the rotate the stories.

For instance, the Silk Press Sheila situation has been oddly paced.. and I'm not talking about the Nicole/Ted/Eva/Kat situation... but the Laura hit and run arc.  If the show insists on keeping the character on the show, it wasn't smart of them to focus so much on the Laura situation(i.e. search warrant, Eva keeping the evidence in her room, etc) so soon.. that should have been something that could have waited to be revisited until later (i.e as we were getting close to the end of season 1).

However, because that plot point was focused on too early.. it made Jacob look stupid, Kat look entitled, Eva becoming an accessor, and Silk Press Sheila being sloppy with her comments... and the plot point was then put back into deep freeze without any sort of resolution.

Also, I'm confused about the Hayley arc.  Not only because we didn't get her POV.. but because the motivation is off, the pacing is off, and it just seems to have been generated because the writers realized they had nothing for Hayley to do while Bill and Dani had separate stories going on.

  • Jan, stop meddling in your daughter's personal life... if you are that hooked on Derek, pull a Brooke Logan and just screw him.
  • Yes, Ashley, make a decision, and please let it be Andre, the man you are meant to be with!
  • Joey questioning Vanessa feels right and natural, but she is too smart for Joey. She can control the situation between them. She is that powerful.
  • The look in Naomi's eyes: she does not believe the convoluted story that the child bride is trying to sell. And you were not going to tell Naomi crap, bitch. You were ready for a drag-down, knock-out fight.
  • Vanessa... bad idea telling Joey that you told Douglas his car was bugged. Sweetie, come on, do not let me down like this.
  • So, the child bride is trying to say this happened a while ago...? Honey, sweetie... your crocodile tears do not work like that, and I do not believe Naomi is buying the story you are selling to her.
  • Dani, this is not meant to be all about you. Maybe those martinis were a bit too much for you to handle.
  • Vanessa using her wiles to charm Joey (who was checking out her considerable assets), and he is turning her down? Uh-oh, no bueno.
  • Well, Ashley knows about Andre and Dani now... and not at the best moment. Pure soapy goodness.

Notes:

  • As I previously noted, they seem to be shortening the pre-opening and post-opening scenes, and I wish they would revert back. The longer scenes just felt more natural and easygoing.
  • So, Ashley has changed her clothing three times, and Derek is still in his nasty, sweaty workout clothes from his workout with Jacob at the Country Club? That is GROSS!
