Very creepy.   It's a shame because the OG Possession was available privately in edits on you tube for a long while, but someone had to ruin it lol

I miss those channels.

Hopefully, that random channel on PLEX ends up meaning something

Today almost made me believe Marlena could have shot EJ, or she realized it was Rachel. Either way, I like that I don't know for sure. I'm excited for whenever the reveal will be.

I'm liking it too. But I'm hoping there's another twist though and the shooter doesn't turn out to be who we've all suspected

Are we sure Doug3 didn't just set a curse on Julie? Because there's no way Gwen is going to let her keep that necklace. 🤔jk . Everyone is so sentimental every time an actor is fired. But, from @AbcNbc247's video, I think we dodged a bullet. Doug3 was seconds away from turning Doug's Place into a hiphop/zumba/zebra-print aerobics studio, if Tate didn't get rid of him when he did (love the tiny matching backpack, BTW).

Maybe if Ron was still writing 😂😂😂

But I wouldn't mind something like that happening. Holly and Ari could get jobs there, which causes Tate's jealousy to explode again...

I do not understand the reasoning behind getting rid of Peyton Meyer as Doug3. His work with Susan Seaforth Hayes should have been enough to keep the character on the show.

It's enough to make me side eye  these new writers. Every time I credit them with saving us from Ron, they do something like this -- the same day annoying Susan is back to ruin every scene she's in.

Anyway, weren't we just talking about which writers should get credit for the current story when Marlena went from grieving widow to the Queen of the Night? (Me, no likey...). It feels very retro/homage, rather than modern and progressive.

I tend to think this is Cwikly / Ford since it's a story that's starting rather one that's continuing from Ron's tenure (like the "Who shot EJ" storyline). I can't say it thrills me, but we'll see where it goes.

ETA: it might tie into the Who Shot EJ storyline though...

Correct me if I am wrong (this means you @Bright Eyes or @brisbydog ), Stefano invaded Marlena's dreams in the Paris Underground Queen of the Night Story, (not the possession), that reunited Rachel Blake with her daughter Kristen. That was separate from the possession. This is totally speculative, with no information. But, it seems like they are going to revisit Rachel telling Kristen that she is Stefano's biological child. Yet, we were told that the actress playing Rachel Blake (old Rachel) had her last episode back in March when EJ tried to drug her, and then he kidnapped her. However, weren't we told that EJ returned Rachel Blake (not Black) to Kristen in return for Brady's vote on the hospital board? So, where's old Rachel when we need her? Is she at Aremid? Can't Gwen stay there while they're repainting the east wing?

The whole "Queen of the Night" thing started during Possession 1.0. That's when Stefano was visiting Marlena at night (through her armoire?!), and her sleeplessness left her susceptible to the possession or... something. The Paris Underground stuff was an outgrowth of all that.

Rachel Blake the Older is back in Aremid. They had Kristen helping her "get settled" offscreen. She and Rachel the Younger have talked about going to see her soon. One would think that leaving a deranged, homicidal elderly woman alone in a dusty-ass old house wouldn't be the best idea, but here we are. And yes, please send Gwen there. Maybe she can be Rachel's offscreen caretaker!

Another lifetime ago a DAYS friend who was as much a fan of comics as he was of soaps showed me this book which listed various stories in different comics but it wasn't just the US, it was international & in a European category he showed me "The Paris Underground" & it was a lot like what we saw. I just laughed. I'm sure many people take inspiration from something they read or see. Gloria Monty stole from B movies. A friend who wrote the Book BOSS LADY, about a young woman from rural Mississippi who moves to NYC & goes into advertising, said, It's not whether to steal or not, it's what to.  IOW, only steal the good stuff.

One thing I'm curious about. We used to call Big Rachel The Woman in White, why don't we still?

I think JER used Marlena's affair with John and break up with Roman as another reason the Devil was able to control her because she was a "broken" woman at that point. You know, JER stuff.

And, yes, Stefano entered her penthouse through her armoire lol.  He bought the Penthouse next door.  Which makes no sense since a penthouse implies it's the only house on the floor, but whatever.

The Paris underground stuff had the VR glasses where John and people could see Marlena in a cage, but no mind control was going on.  Stefano would manipulate Marlena by letting her hear recordings of Belle crying, telling her John was dead with fake newspapers, and that no one was looking for her so he could sleep with her.  He told her he would let her go if she had sex with him willingly.

IIRC, the OG Rachel/Women in white story was that Rachel and her husband knew Stefano's secrets (re-John) and Stefano was obsessed with Rachel's beauty.  Stefano blew up her husband's house/car leaving Rachel horribly disfigured and mentally distressed and her husband dead so Stefano took Peter/Kristen in as his children.  I believe they both thought Rachel was dead.  Her main story was during Aremid when she secured Tony's diary to free John.  I know there were plans for an Aremid spin off at one point, so the character may have had more use, but by the time she died in Paris Rachel basically completed her tragic arc.

Did Kristen and Peter know Stefano killed their real dad? It’s interesting if they did and still just embraced being DiMeras.

I just do not understand what the point is of revisiting Stefano and the Queen of the Night at this late date. He is deader than dead.

Now?  Yes.  As kids?  No.  I think by the time the Rachel backstory came out those two were too far gone to care about the origin story.

This is actually a time where the re-Possession would make sense on paper, but I am so over that.  Play it real.  Marlena just lost John-her true love.  We don't need supernatural, extra things.

Which makes this (possible) thing even more unnecessary. It especially wouldn't feel right without John

Correct.  Because the Possession was always built as a love story for Marlena/John.   The throughline that John would do anything for Marlena was the basis of the story.  Yes, it was silly, but it was also romantic and heroic as John would risk his entire life for her.

When Kristen was good and a social worker, Stefano had already raised her right? Was she just fighting her upbringing at first? And did John know Stefano was her dad when they were an item?

Like losing the love of your life can actually make you physically ill, why does it need to be supernatural? Why do we need to revisit Stefano at all anymore? Let him just be the portrait in the mansion that his kids and grandkids talk to.
