Of course having Cane as another billionaire keeps Y&R on that dreaded path of takeovers, acquisitions and double dealing. all from restaurants and coffee shops.

I have to wonder why on God's Green Earth do they think viewers want to see that??

Looking at that motley crew assembled at the plastic plaza just points out the reliance on the vets.

They should be background/strong supporting and stepping into A territory when appropriate.

Noah, Faith, Allie,Scott,Fen,Chance etc should be prominent. Now would be the time to bring on teen Charlie/Mattie.

Imagine if AD had have been a recast Phillip-a handsome 50 something gay man ready to establish himself in GC. Now that might have been interesting.

They have really done Billy a disservice by saddling him with Cane and then going out of their way to say he is a whole new character, pretty much acknowledging that Cane #1 was a dud.

Pleading for viewers do give him a chance and him saying he is giving it his best shot etc.

None of this necessary had he simply been a much needed new character!

Cue the Ronn Moss Ridge B&B clip of 'it's not going to happen!'

After Jacob Young finished his last stint on B&B as Rick Forrester, I felt sure Y&R would ask him to come play a slightly de-SORASed Phillip Chancellor III, especially since they'd finally found themselves a decent Chance in Conner Floyd.  But Y&R always does the opposite of what I think might work.  

-- Eric Braeden just took 3 pauses saying the line "I suspected....your....real....identity." They're still saying he's "10 steps ahead of everyone else" (Nikki repeated those words today), yet EB cannot function without constantly looking at cue cards. Jesus.

-- The show's first scenes had me laughing. They ALL went to Nice of their own accord. No one forced them to be there. Yet they're all so pissed off at Cane. It's laughable.

-- Also laughable? Everyone getting one line with their "around the horn" comment on Cane and the situation. This is all so bad.

-- The only thing saving any of this is that Billy Flynn is good and has chemistry with CK.

A lot of the actors having been phoning it in. I can’t say I blame them. The material is so lame I can see why it’s hard for them to really dig into it and feel a connection to the storylines. 
 

I stopped watching Y&R for years with just occasionally tuning back in here and there but wasn’t watching consistently since maybe 2015. When I came back I asked myself.. what the hell happened? Even the vets like Peter Bergman, Eric Braeden, Eileen Davidson, Joshua Morrow, Sharon Case acting seems off. They are just completely uninterested and just saying lines instead of actually acting them. It’s sad but again, I don’t blame them.

Hate to say it, but that would never happen; Jacob Young has made it very clear he is not interested in a long-term daytime gig.

And, this has been going on for years and years and years and years..."Billionaires" talking about taking over this vague company or that vague company or people talking about who's going to work at this vague company or that vague company. Why in God's name do TPTB think their viewers care about these kind of stories?

The REALLY sad part is that Billy Flynn has chemistry with Lily. Imagine if he had been a brand new character or some other mystery man with a different connection with Lily. It would all be sooooo much better.
