It was a good episode. I didn't expect things to unravel so soon.

One thing I still don't like about these big events: Where was everyone else?

This is a big event. Everyone should've been there.

This underscores the biggest issue that the show needs to work on.   The majority of the characters on the show are all related to one another, which is why we have that B&B esque Dani/Andre hook up situation

As much as I have hyped the looks on this show, those dresses did not impress today. Since the premeire, there's only been one look that I can truly say IMO didn't work (and it honestly wasn't even that bad). It was an outfit Dani wore. These flowly wide leg trousers and it was paired with a loose top with a cowl neck. However, I didn't LOVE a single dress on any of the ladies today. Kat's was great only because it suits the character and her personality - so an A for that. It's a good dress. Dana's was also really nice. Everyone else either just was meh, had something unflattering about the fit, or didn't really fit the vibe.

Also, this isn't BTG's fault. It's just the state of soap operas today, but that event felt empty. Tables of 3

I mean it was nice that they had some extras on there, but it definitely didn't feel like an event when the family was pretty much ever table there.

That was a nice end to the episode and I wonder how this is going to unfold.

-- Really good episode today, with a lot more happening than I expected.

-- SilkPress is great, but I don't see the need to criticize Dani/KM when supporting Leslie.

-- That being said, I don't like Dani with Andre. I think they should end that as soon as possible.

-- Very lame that Vanessa and Doug weren't there. If they want to impress on us that Vanessa is Nicole's best friend, they need to do better.

-- Brandon Claybon continues to improve as Martin, and his relationship with Smitty finally feels real.

-- Dr. Carlton is, as others have posted, fine as fck. We need more.

I think Vanessa not being there was a matter of choices in who to have there without overloading the interactions. Nicole is going to have to interact with her kids, parents, sister and of course have it out with Ted. Any interaction with Vanessa will have to be after the whole mess goes down.

I thought I was the only one. They do nothing for me. I enjoy Dani which seems to be an unpopular opinion here, but Andre to me is as unnecessary as Ashley and Derek.

Not only should Vanessa, Nicole's bestie, and her husband have been there but where are Naomi and her man?

I mean...if I had to pick...this event so far definitely does not have enough extras vs Nicole's award event where I felt THAT had the right amount. This one...yeah...tear the lack of extras apart! lol.

I agree. The McBrides, the Hawthornes, and the teens should have been there. Even Shanice and Ashley would have made sense to fill out the crowd since they work with Ted and Nicole. (Though BTG is probably saving the Lulu reveal for much later)

I also would like to see the restaurant themed slightly differently for each event. We see the country club almost everyday, it would be nice to switch up the space for each special event with different dining chairs, different floral arrangements, pipe and drape, etc. They have done it before for the wedding and the fashion show. Everyone kept praising Eva for the party but the space looked the same as it always does.

Finally, it's been a while since an entire episode was good.  LOL  Leslie and Eva are just the stars of this show. I get disappointed whenever they aren't gone.  So that was a good cliffhanger, however, I have to be a Debbie Downer just a bit......the music sucked and so did the fade out to credits. That final minute could've been so much better, so much soapier with proper background music and editing. I think it's time to move on and get a new music composer, music directors, and editors.  Bring in people who know how to produce a soap.

Overall, this was a satisfying episode. Eva's desperation to stop Dana was gut-wrenching. I know it is a cliche to say that Ambyr Michelle is the show's breakout star but she is dazzling. She makes the most out of every second she is on camera. And Kat has proven to be such a good rival.

I'm looking forward to the fallout scenes from DD. At the Paley Center event Sheila Ducksworth said something to effect of everyone being heartbroken watching her scenes.

I'm also looking forward to seeing Dana interact the rest of the cast in her true identity since she has been more or less siloed for the past 3 months.

As long as I'm not hearing the same redneck guitar musical sting Days has been using the GWB administration, I'm okay with BTG's evolving music situation.

-- I was OK with the music. I think the first 5 minutes of the first episode spoiled us -- we really thought we were going to get "real music" a lot more often. Instead, we got some budget money for the opening scene, and that was it.

-- I'd like music to be used more often, but I'll put that on production and not on the musicc supervisor. I think they've intentionally dialed down the music on this show.

-- Editing? I still have major problems with it. This episode was SO good, but almost every fade to commercial was off or bad. I just don't get it. That, too, is intentional, but I have no idea what they're going for. It isn't working.

    • It was interesting to peruse Twitter and seeing some fans who were very upset Anna didn't get to do a tango with Chase, while others were glad because they felt that was her special dance with Duke. A good reminder of how long-lasting soap fanbases can be, even as the show has tried to move Anna on. How any Duke/Anna fan did manage to stick with the show I don't know, but points for will power, I suppose.
    • It's probably a good thing most of us don't post here often now as the shameful conduct of the "legacy media" enabling the attention seeking and grudge holding of Tapper and Alex Thompson would probably have broken the servers. I avoid CNN as often as I can, so I had no idea that every anchor on CNN, probably even an AI Larry King, was plugging the book 24/7. The wagons truly are circling, as even some journalists who love to pretend they aren't like the rest, like Dave Weigel, have joined in. I am at the point where I have no use for any major reporters or media figures. I find it especially disgusting when I see reporters who talk about losing loved ones supporting this book after the reports you posted.
    • That wasn't an original song. That song is by ABC and was a huge hit in the 80's. As I was watching I was thinking he just ruined a great tune.

        Looking forward to that.
    • The Hollands obviously had long term story in place for Lee/Caroline/Bobby etc but when the Pollocks arrived they quickly wrapped it up with the new diagnosis and sent them packing. That could have been it for Lee but I think the Elmans brought Lee/Scotty back in their short stint.  Somebody must have regretted dumping Lee.I'm sure Peter Hansen was happy to get the call to return.
    • You have to stop and think: was Estelle the mother to all five children?  How many Mrs. Kendalls existed? Linda Cook played Aileen Kendall in flashbacks, but, at the time, we thought she was the only prior Mrs. Kendall.  It seemed that Aileen’s name was changed to Estelle when Domini Blythe came on.  But Lloyd (Peter Haskell) is said to be going through a divorce when he’s introduced (and when he’s pursuing Sunny).  To me, Aileen is Estelle, and the mother to all the children. The wife Lloyd is divorcing is inconsequential.  Wendy’s fate is never resolved.
    • Oh you are probably right. I thought Marland brought him back but that must have been an interim writer. Tex somebody...?
    • Do you have Days Breakdown list for Thurs 22 May 25 please?
    • I just hope it doesn’t become a constant thing. Like with Days, it’s funny the first time, but after the 475th time, it isn’t anymore.
    • Marland killed them? I thought that was someone else.
