Well the average age of Y&R viewer is almost 70yo so these references like the Cola Wars would resonate with the audience. To be fair - Audra and Kyle did talk about social media being the focus of the campaign.

I'd rather Audra and Kyle have clothes-less video go viral than to listen to outdated business concepts. As if, Audra could launch even one product without any hires, R&D, etc. Skip this nonsense and hit the sheets.

Any doubts about Nikki's business prowess at running Chancellor were forever extinguished by the scene that played at the entrance to the GCAC where Claire detailed to Kyle  how her grandmother took down a cocky young exec over  a real estate deal.

Hayley Erin dug deep to channel Nikki's savvy business persona while Micheal Mealor remembered that the the best acting is reacting, as he stood wide eyed and open mouthed taking in Nikki's handling of the situation.

We can only imagine Melody Thomas Scott's commanding performance as Nikki took center stage in Lady Boss mode and how the newbie actor playing her scene partner rose to the challenge as sparkling dialogue ricocheted back and forth.

And a special shout out to Y&R's set designers who we sure would have created an office set that reflected Nikki's elegance and good taste.

To viewers  bothered by  Y&R's continued business focus, this scene that dealt with power dynamics, sexism in business and privilege put paid to that criticism once and for all.

    • Since my mind is drawing a blank, have we hit the episodes that were filmed after the show officially premiered and started to get feedback, or we should be hitting those next month?
    • I think playing Greg Sumner gave his career a huge boost, but it also hindered him a bit because he became too known for that role.  Although he and Judith Light had good comic chemistry on Phenom, and he had a short lived cop show in the late 90s that he was decent in as well. I think the fact he kept working for twenty + years after Knots Landing ended is almost a miracle considering acting work can be hit or miss.
    • Now that I have ad-free Prime Video again, I may start going back into Knots Landing and giving it a third time... got to be a charm, right?
    • The final season of THE HANDMAID'S TALE
    • And characters just disappearing with NO explanation and no further mention. Even after they were involved in a seemingly significant storyline. And I'm talking about Chief Elon Hawthorne and Detective Marcel Malone. Where are they?
    • Probably Kmc as Robin on GH?  Not trying to deny Christie any love because she's amazing and beautiful and fantastic.
    • Yeah, not showing us Chelsea coming out to her grandparents was bad.  Hopefully things will get better in terms of structure and story telling.  We have to remember the show isn't even 6 months old yet.  There's still a lot to figure out.  They've made some changes to the writing staff, so maybe that will help?  I hope they figure out the editing issues and music issues as well.  We'll see.
    • I'm not sure he really got the roles he deserved after Knots either. He was excellent as Greg, and made you care about him even through some very tacky times. I still think back sometimes to his work when Mary Frances died or when Laura died.
    • this has been clear from the very beginning. and, boring as they are, it’s not just derek and ashley. fitting in so many characters and storylines means they are skipping over the emotional beats — chelsea’s coming out was far too fast, and why did they not show her telling her grandparents — so there’s A LOT of exposition.  given how long val jean and guza have written for soaps, this speeded up narrative and enormous cast have the suits’ fingerprints all over it.  whether it ultimately drives down ratings remains to be seen.
