Jack Wagner, Nick Marone, The Bold and the Beautiful

Although he made a brief appearance during the show’s 35th anniversary episode in 2022, actor Jack Wagner is set to reprise his role as Nick Marone on “The Bold and the Beautiful” for a story arc that kicks off with episodes airing in June, Deadline reported.

According to the outlet, Wagner returned to the show’s Los Angeles-based set on Thursday to tape scenes that surrounds the emotional turmoil inflicted on Katherine Kelly Lang’s character, Brooke Logan, who has been on a roller coaster ride of late following years of an on again/off again relationship with Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye). His episodes begin airing Friday, June 13.

“After a series of tumultuous events in her ongoing relationship with Ridge Forrester, Brooke is feeling defeated and lost, grappling with heartbreak and the painful realization that her relationship may be irreparably broken,” read a logline for the storyline. “As she struggles with her emotions, Nick’s unexpected arrival brings a rush of memories and unresolved feelings back to the surface. His charismatic and supportive nature offers Brooke a sense of comfort and stability that she desperately needs. Their connection reignites old flames, offering Brooke a chance at happiness and a fresh start away from the shadow of her past with Ridge.”

First appearing on the half-hour soap in 2003, Wagner portrayed Nick Marone, son of shipping tycoon Massimo Marone (played by the late Joseph Mascolo), who also happens to be Ridge’s half-brother. Described as adventurous and ambitious, the sea captain now runs Marone Industries.

“I was actually pretty blindsided just by driving to CBS because I was on the show for 8 or 9 years. Just driving there and walking down the halls at CBS, and then up to the dressing room and reconnecting to the actors, it was unbelievable,” said Wagner during an appearance on “The Talk” in 2022 on his return to the show in celebration of its 35th anniversary episode. “Like, you know, when you see a high school friend and you just jump right back like time hasn’t passed. It’s so great to be back on the show again.”

Although the legal son of Nick and Taylor Hayes (then played by Hunter Tylo), Brooke inadvertently provided a donor egg that led to the conception of Jack Hamilton Marone, who first appeared on the soap in 2007, technically making the child her biological son.

Following a lengthy legal battle during his divorce from Taylor, it was later determined that Nick would be the better parent for Jack with Taylor relinquishing her maternal rights and also leaving him in the care of Brooke as well.

In the years since that storyline, fans have clamored to see an aged up Jack, but, at press time, there were no indications the show had plans on including the character in the upcoming Nick/Brooke story arc.

Since exiting “The Bold and the Beautiful,” Wagner has gone on to star several TV movies for Hallmark Channel, including “The Wedding March” series, and stars in the network’s long-running drama “When Calls the Heart” which was just renewed for a record 13th season, set to debut in 2026.

Recently renewed for three additional seasons at CBS, “The Bold and the Beautiful” is set to tape episodes on location later this year in Italy for the sixth time, with supervising producer Casey Kasprzyk teasing Naples or Capri as possible cities.

The soap previously taped in Italy while on location during trips to Lake Como in 1997, Venice in 1999, Portofino in 2002, Puglia in 2012, and, more recently, Rome in 2023.

I can't lie.

I'm happy.

Don't hate me.

I liked his first couple of seasons. I liked that he was the anti-Ridge and that he was a clean-slate for Brooke. I liked his sense of humor and the way he cared for Brooke. I liked the acting, when it was not too much. JW has a tendency to over-act, especially when the script is melodramatic. But when he's good... he's soapy good. I didn't like the taboo storylines and I didn't like him past 2007-2008. BUT I have strong memories from the moments I did like - remember I was in my EARLY teens when I was watching this... so all of this is my memories from then. I haven't re-watched these seasons in decades.

But I still... am EXCITED that we are getting a change from Brooke begging Ridge for a chance.

This seems random. I wondered if they were bringing him back to kill him off, but apparently not.

I stopped watching by most of his run but kept up at times. I had forgotten all that mess with Taylor.

Maybe he can take her with him and she can return played by Kristen Alderson.

My fear is that Nick hasn't worked as a character since somewhere 2007-2008. I'm worried that my memories of the good moments... are just that - memories from 2003-2007. Bradley Bell desecrated that character and as I recall at one time he had slept with 99.9 percent of the women in the show, except Stephanie.

I don't know what will happen now... I just should not get any hopes up.

We are just so traumatized by this drivel's horrible quality... that any change like this... makes me perk up.

Nick was a big part of the spoiling of B&B for me back in the day.

I think the reappearance of Jack Marone is about as likely as the reappearance of Little Eric (despite the fact that his sister and father are presently part of the show.)

He's not back to usher Brooke/KKL off the show, is he?

Her screentime has decreased a lot recently and the character is in a limbo. A few years ago I would never have thought it possible that she would leave, but who knows.....

Wait. He's filming April 10 for shows airing June 13? Two months seems like a long tape-to-air for B&B. Has the show changed its production model?

I always liked him especially his first few Years. He felt Like a Fresh breath of Air in that Show. Even when the Show gave up on him I liked him.

But why is Mister Wagner returning to B&B and not GH.

    • Yeah. I wasn't feeling it either. If it was meant to be a chem test, it didn't work. I don't think so. Because I think Neil and Liz moved into that house after Stefano "died", and Neil lived there until he went to go see his patients and never came back

    • Canada aired a repeat today Tues. Nov. 18. So after being a day ahead for the past week, they will now be back in sync with U.S.
    • I was really starting to enjoy it, but after Anspach, Shelton and Keane left, it got a bit blah to watch. Jane Russell was great as Rose, Buddy Ebsen as Toat was interesting as well.  If a second season were in the cards, I would have signed  Karen Carlson on to a contract and cast a couple more women as regulars. The cowboy aspect could continue. Sam Elliott, as always, was fantastic,  The camaraderie between Roy and Quisto was really good as well. Cybill... she was sex on a stick and unapologetic.   Poor Robin Wright barely lasted five minutes, though, before being raped and murdered.
    • I love it that we've gone from daylight to dark -- Luna's even returned to work -- but Steffy is still sitting next to shirtless Finn on the sofa.

    • Is the current DiMera mansion the same mansion Stefano moved into around 1983?  I remember that house was out near a lake, and not far from Doug Williams' night club.  In fact, there was a tunnel connecting Doug's Place to the DiMera mansion.  If it supposed to be the same house, I'm fairly sure it is not the same set.  But I'm aware sometimes soap opera sets change without any explanation
    • Amazing work @slick jones I remember watching and enjoying Yellow Rose but losing interest once they went to self contained episodes, Interestingly that's the opposite of what Dallas, KL and FC did. So maybe YR should have been more episodic at first and then go to a fully fledged serial. But really the timeslot was the problem -Sat @10 was not the spot for a serial. And Rounders turned out to be a poor lead in. Maybe 9-11 Tues following A Team would have helped.
    • LOL!!! He looks like he is reacting as if Luna just passed bad gas or something.
    • Doug Marland came on board shortly before Gloria Monty, I believe. Jackie Smith was in charge of ABC daytime at that point. All of the characters in place were not his creations. Alan was created by Irving and Tex Ellman who wrote the hurricane story a few months before and brought in Alan, Scotty, David Hamilton, Dorrie and Lisa/Lana. His first character was  Bobbie in Jan 78. Apart from wrapping up the Lan/Lisa story he pretty much kept all the stories going just adding new elements.
    • She is 29... she's inching closer, and we know how important age is on soaps.
