She definitely feels entitled to the prestige that comes with marrying wealth. She should do what Derek said and look for friends instead of begging to be accepted at the country club.

That part.

Dana is easily sustainable if she only goes so far and/or marries into power. It's a common soap staple that keeps villains insulated for years.

I don't want to watch soaps that have villains be part of the regular canvas. I just don't.  Doesn't matter how great the actor is.

A villain's tenure on a soap depends how long she can keep her secrets. If everyone finds out next week that it was Dana who ran Laura off the road and then poisoned her, there's no way she can ever be integrated into the larger community in a realistic way.

I'm also ok with characters being punished cosmically or karmically, if not legally. There are ways of meting out justice to misbehaving characters that don't require them to leave the show.

I do think that some shows take redemption too far, like Marlena on DOOL vouching for a serial killer's re-integration into society, when her own sister was killed by the Strangler. Actually, the examples on DOOL are too numerous to mention.

-- Samantha told Tyrell "Your drip is mad basic." Are we serious with this? Is the 30-year old writing her own lines?

This was really bad and stuck out like a sore thumb in an otherwise good episode. Older writers include generation-specific slang with the expectation that younger actors will be able to pull it off, but it rarely works out that way.

I got to say, I'm really impressed with Tamara Tunie's acting; I never realized until now just how good of an actress she really is. And until recently I only knew her from her recurring stint on Law & Order: SVU as M.E. Warner.

I am most familiar with her work as Jessica Griffin on ATWT. What really stands out to me is how different buttoned-up attorney Jessica is from retired diva Anita. Some actors basically play the same role from soap to soap. Tamara Tunie's unique characterization of Anita is remarkable. It's no surprise MVJ and SD couldn't see anyone else in the role.

Today's episode was really nicely paced by Sara Bibel, as usual. I think Bill is going to make a big donation to the First Gen Grant on the condition that Hayley chair the board. Then we will see Dani and Hayley helm competing organizations, hold dueling fundraisers, and compete for dominance in the wider high society of Fairmont Crest.

Playing catch-up... on Monday, Anita mentioned artist Roy DeCarava. He was Robin Strasser's stepfather. Robin has shared how people on the streets would whisper as she walked with her mother, Anne, and Roy, assuming Roy was her biological father... how Robin's dark features favored her "father". Anne's mother sued for custody of Robin, not wanting her to be raised by a black man.

It might have been a long crazy work day, but glad I have a new episode of BTG to watch.

Add me to the list of people that hated what Anita did. I’m sick of the Duprees coddling Dani and refusing her to be held account table for her crimes. I also noticed Vernon’s punk azz staying mute and letting her just do her thing when it seemed like he felt uncomfortable but was scared to speak up. They’ve raised a spoiled entitled princess and she acts the way she does bc of their bad parenting. I really do think she will spiral and do something awful while drunk bc she just knows her family will cover for her and it’s that mentality that these two created

@Alan I thought the same thing when Bill and Hayley saw Dani dismissed by the First Gen Board.  I thought this is going to be Hayley's in as chair.  It will set up more battles between Dani and Hayley in the future and I am all for it.  On the flip side, a part of me would like to see Dani as Samantha's manager over Chelsea.

Taylor is fine but he rude AF. Im getting sick of how the upity country club people are treating Hayley. This is beyond childish at this point and downright unprofessional

Dani got dropped? GOOD! Im glad there are real life consequences for her acting a damn fool in public. She's not in jail so she should consider herself lucky

Dani acted shocked by the moral Clause, but I know many places who have those including mine and I have had co-workers dismissed or demoted for their actions outside of work that were not appropriate just like Dani

Is it just me or is anyone else having a hard time believing that Smitty and Martin are adoptive parents to Samantha and Tyrell.  I still think while the show is making adjustments, they should de-age them and make them at least upper middle school age.

Another good episode. Sara and Lynn definitely make a good team every time they are together. Their episodes just flow. And this one was no different. I did not at all feel like how Wednesday's episode was where it flow and then 45 minutes in there was an abrupt shift.

I admit that I did not see that coming with Dani and the board. It is realistic though so I can't hate. And that on top of her seeing Bill and Hayley in public. Lord Baby Jesus!! I did like that she managed to keep her head up though. And I don't care how much drama she caused for Bill and Hayley. They knew better than to come and gloat in her face. Especially when she did not send for them. (c) Kenya Moore. Her brief showdown where she read Hayley was superb to me. I also liked that she and Martin had a scene. It was established Week 1 that Martin was Team Dani and support her no matter what so great to see them in a scene together. And it seems the writers are giving Dani them layers again by putting her in a good light by giving him advice.

Oh Samantha smh. But I guess it says to how well the family life of Martin and Smitty has been established that I care about the drama there. Ty has his bullying storyline. And now Samantha wants to model. Hopefully, it does not cause a further rift between Martin and Smitty.

While I loved Dani reading them, I did not mind Bill standing up for his wife and flaunting this marriage at the country club. If Bill is the actual villain, he got to show off that power of his. I did mind that Hayley is back to being whiny. Ugh.

Anita...YOU...BETTA...REEEEAD. lol. Oh, lord, she gave me life gathering that heffa with a Mama Joyce wig (c) Kenya Moore all the way together. And Vernon there as Good Cop was delicious. You can tell TT enjoyed every line that came out of her lips. And why not? There was so much quotable dialogue there. And just her icy glaze...I LIVE!!!

Given what today's episode is supposed to be about today, fingers crossed for a Friday cliffhanger.

I didn't think about that, but I love that! It would be a way to organically keep that storyline going for sure, but allow for them to go off on other storylines so the audience does not getting tired of it.

No, anytime Anita comes up, is the right time! We know she has a secret & we know that Sheila Ducks said things coming in April AND this is April!!!!

It's a slow burn I know. I'm just impatient. lol. The love of Tamara Tunie.

I think yesterday was another set up day for future story in regards to Ashley and I think this because of a few nuggets mentioned throughout the run of the soap thus far:

1)  Ashley was the nurse attending to Laura in week 1

2) Ashley was falling asleep during a night out with Derek/Naomi/Jacob

3) Eva in episode #2 mentioned that she felt her life was in limbo compared to Ashley's, who seemed to have everything going well with her first day as a nurse.

4) People have been boasting about her being a miracle nurse since the elevator baby situation... even someone as nice as Ashley would let that go to her head.

5) Laura's one blood test result had potassium in it.

6) Ashley was spoken to about her clerical error with dosage of potassium even though she did give the right dosage.

I have a feeling the show is setting it up where Ashley will be accused of causing the issues with Laura.  If that doesn't happen, then the last 30+ episodes have been a waste for Ashley's character and the show is just running in circles with her character.

If this happens , Silk Press Sheila has managed to derail the 'daughters' of both of her Have not friends... and all for Eva.. while poor Eva is probably going to feel guilty and not have proof of her mom's activities.

And I have a feeling Shanice will be remember 'Lulu' and I also think maybe Andre might have filmed 'Lulu' looking up the test results (even though we didn't see him filming during that scene.. it still could have happened).

Also, I think Anita's story will get started at the end of April and start to develop during May sweeps while other stories are hitting their peak, etc.

And I noticed the actress playing Chelsea has finally hit her stride acting wise in these last few episodes.  Soap acting is tough and it takes time to get into the groove of acting on a soap.

See? That tracks for me as well. I was surprised when the McCutey said that to Ashley about the mistake and thought it funny that no one remembered that Ashley was the nurse on duty when Laura came in. So thank you for that. ;) I too wonder if SilkPress Sheila will frame her. Meanwhile...as long as she don't get killed...YES to Nosy Nurse being all nosy on SilkPress.

IK, IK. Contessa just said the same. Usually I love slow burns, but I must admit my body is ready for Anita's story.

Same. That is why you give actors/actress time. But I'm happy that even the worst actors on this show IMHO are slowly but surely finding their rhythm.

I agree. In the old days on soaps, villains would be found out and punished for a lengthy period of time before they were redeemed enough before they have a new scheme.

If anything, I would like villains to be like Sami on DAYS in the 90s who was always punished once she was found out, but almost always had a trump card to play later on for the next scheme even as she was persona non grata.

She spent part of her money on a new wardrobe

I really love her hair like that. She looked GOOD.

A few words about Sara Bibel. first she was a fan, then a soap journo. essay on fans & shows every week, then she wrote for Y&R, had to look at history & details & continuity, THEN she was one of the 8 people that  josh grifith fired in one fell swoop. That makes her humble, having been let go, but it also makes her hungry for the next opportunity. Lynn Martin, same thing, basically. So, this is their team, we can count on them every Thursday. Michele val Jean & her dream team. Ladies & gents I present to you this dream team.

I'm a little torn about Chelsea career endeavors because I think she looks the most like a model, to me. She was stunning at that fashion show!
