As long as Shanice keeps speaking about herself in the third person, I'm happy.

I am going to mangle the quote but when Jan was updating Dana on the latest gossip she said  something along the lines of "As the gated community turns."

Thank you!

Leslie and yet another wig. She probably picked this one up with a couple of hundred from that 50k Ted dropped off.

Tyrell is going to end up really getting hurt, either by bullies or himself.

Anita's line about things with Martin ending terribly was very much 70s soap. That sort of delivery is uncommon these days.

I found Brandon C stiff at first, as Martin, and felt that was a problem with the actor, and I think it really was.

But now I think things have shifted. What I'm seeing now is that he's intentionally putting the stiffness into the character as a character trait -- when the character is in an uncomfortable or triggered situation; but other times the character Martin acts more relaxed and natural.  That's the shift I'm feeling.  So now I finally want to watch him.

Martin still annoys me... but yes, the actor has gone from drama school reject... to... bearable.

I think the problem with him is that they are giving him material that a bad actor... or a really really inexperienced one... may struggle with A LOT. If he was given Andre material for example... he would have been waaaaaay more tolerable. It's too big of a bite for him to chew at times. The Martin character is important and has many layers in the writing. That means that the actor needs to be able to execute that...

Now... imagine giving more dramatic material to Tomas. I start laughing just imagining it. Ronn Moss - beware... your crown may be taken!

They could have changed Martin to be the youngest child of Anita and Vernon before the show's debut without making that many edits. I have been watching carefully, and Martin has only had a handful of scenes with Nicole which could be cut and replaced. The bits of dialogue where Martin refers to Anita and Vernon as his grandparents could simply be altered with automated dialogue replacement.

It's too late now, but it's a shame the change wasn't implemented. Especially seeing today's good scenes between Anita, Vernon and Samantha and Tyrell. I can't imagine Nicole and Ted having these kinds of grandparenty interactions. They would look more like Ted and Nicole's kids than grandkids. If Nicole and Ted needed a child aside from Kat you could say they have a son who is away at college.

Another work around could have been if Martin had been adopted by Ted and Nicole when he was ten years old, for example. That could explain PART of the reason why he's obsessed with making his family proud and doing well. It could also tie into his own decision to adopt.

@Chris B Said Jazmen writes the best dialogue and has the best episodes so I am pumped for this episode. It's starting off right.

I need to cosign on this becuase Jazmen's scripts are always good. When I see his name pop up at the beginning of episodes I know I'm in for a treat and this episode was no exception.

Overall BTG has been a hit imo and has me watching soaps again, something I havent done in years. Sad to hear about Maurice but I'll stay tuned to see how everything plays out.

I'd still be down for them finding some way to finagle Nicole and Ted raising Martin as their own lol. It's just off.

Can I co-sign too?! With what @DemetriKane and you said. I am loving this writer. Such a breath of fresh air.

Can we give Anita a friend or frenemy or rival...like something so that she can interact with others outside of her family. Maybe one of the Articulettes who she had a falling out with can come to town with a secret.

Jazmen written scripts are always a treat, but we also should give credit to the breakdown writer Dunn because the episode flowed quite well.

Leslie/Silk Press Sheila vs Ted was so good and I also noticed that the scenes between them ran a little longer then usual.  So after getting a glimpse of Mr Hyde (Ted's dark side), I'm even more confused why he was replaced since he played up the dark/rough edges flawlessly.   And Leslie/Silk Press Sheila is so well cast!  She was missed!

Laura and Mona came back after a hiatus, but I have a feeling that Laura might not be ready to go back to work quite yet if the last scene is an indication (and girl... where are gloves?)

I'm curious what Martin's secret is.. and the story that Smitty mentioned he's working on I have a feeling will involve Chelsea and maybe shed a bit of light on those two quick scenes where we saw a less timid/more confident Chelsea with the guy and his partner.

I agree with everyone else that Martin should have been Vernon/Anita's son and not grandson.

Can't wait for tomorrow.

I read somewhere Anita has a story coming up.

I've been down on the show for the last two weeks but today was very good! Finally! LOL I really like seeing Ted's dark side with Leslie because I enjoy his scenes with wife and daughter - it's a nice contrast.   I really hope Leslie didn't kill Laura.  I just don't want to see her cross that line.  I like her as a schemer, but don't want her to be murderer.

Great breakdown by Chris Dunn and script by JDB.  I had no issues with how the characters acted or how the episode flowed.

I second this. There's time for that. But not now. We need her fresh and as rootable as possible.
