B&B: April 2025 Discussion Thread

Brooke had Stephanie to, both figuratively and literally, beat her down on a regular basis, and yes, while Brooke was repeatedly forgiven for her mistakes so was Stephanie. So they were on equal footing, and both had ups and downs, wins and losses.

Steffy doesn't have that kind of adversary. Sheila and Luna are obviously not the kind of grey characters you can root for so having them as opponents only serve to paint Steffy in a better light.

I really don’t understand how the amnesia went on after Hope got almost the entire blame cast on her.  
 

It seemed like it took forever for Hope to say herself - hey dude, this was all your idea.  You had to explain it to me. How you would get them to sign the papers because they trust you so much it would be easy to dupe them.  
 

They still - but I only catch about 10-15 minutes an entire week.  They still haven’t really called Carter out - dude is kind of not redeemable to me now.  This was written so badly that he won’t ever make sense to me.  A shame really.  And the acting - eeeesh. Just like the disbelief by everyone that Brooke planned on getting the company back?  She’s always been loyal to Forrester, and this was also badly done.  
 

Someone please rip Steffy a new one. Slept with Liam and Wyatt just like Hope, she killed her own cousin, stalked Ivy basically - they didn’t do a great job with it but she did kinda stalk the girl.  Almost an accessory to the baby swap. 
 

I do like my idea of - Carter - what a yawner but maybe Daphne can bed Finn or Liam.  She can come up with a scent to cure Liam’s brain mass hahaha

Just kinda there so far this week. 

 

I think for me it's the writing. If you been over at the BTG thread, I said I like slow burns. Story builds. Playing the beats in a story. And technically...I guess they are with the Liam's dying storyline. But it just has that annoying repetitiveness in the writing. But at least it has been slowly getting the news to the other characters.

 

Meh at them trying to get the Brooke/Ridge/Taylee storyline off and running. Brooke deserves so much better. Eric can shut up.

The way this show is writing it, like Eric settled for Donna cause he can't have Brooke

The way Brad refuses to let Brooke grow and is still the same character since like 1990 is truly beyond embarassing

Steffy should have dragged her loser grandfather & Brooke the way Stephanie would have

Now that Bridget is back, I really wish she'd read Ridge for filth over blaming Brooke joining the takeover. 

As true Forresters, Rick + Bridget, need to pull that card on Ridge/Steffy every now and then to keep them in check. 

Like I said, this *coup* could've gone on for a couple of years because so many angles simply weren't played - Rick, Bridget, RJ, Kristen - via Zende, $B being an interloper via Justin. It would've been just like Justin/$B to know there was a legal out to the LLC papers but to withhold it because $B wanted Brooke/Katie to shine and to stick it to Ridge. Justin using Eric's stress to win back Donna.

I guess Liam and the Fashion Show were a ratings hit last week.

60+ year old Brooke and 50 year old Katie talking about how Ridge looked at Brooke on the runway.

So embarrassing.

B&B's ratings were very strong last week. I do not understand it.

If viewers are punishing GH by not watching, why isn't that happening with BOLD? Why is the reverse happening? With all its problems, GH is a MUCH better soap than B&B on every level. None of this makes sense.

Worst of all, there's no impetus for Brad Bell to change anything. He can look at these ratings, smile, and continue to give us absolute crap.

The last few weeks Bradley has decided to write for Brooke like she's in her early 30s again. It's a bizarre decision. She's back at begging Ridge for attention, putting on bra and panties and looking around the corners like a bitch in heat... she's also... back talking softly and acting like nobody is gonna stand in her way to DESTINY. She's back in the wedding dresses. And to contrast this...  Steffy is written like a pissed off grandma...  while the mid 60s Brooke is the romantic girl in love. I mean... this show is so over the top... it's going back into cult territory with the level of cringe and LOL moments. I think Bradley has realized that AN's Hope will not be able to BE the SLUT (the lingerie queen) character of the show, so he's is giving the characteristics back to Brooke. 

The question is... is he going to be repeating the storylines from the 90s... or the 2000s... And the second question is... in 10 years... will Brooke still be in lingerie threatening Taylor she can use her sexuality to win Ridge back? 
Because that will be something for the history books. I mean... KKL still looks SOOOO good, I would even say better than 99 percent of 30 year olds... but STILL. Brooke is a grandmother. 

I guess Bradley Bell is going to squeeze as much juice as he can from her. His whole carreer has been carried by Brooke Logan's vagina.

I liked it. Compared to Y&R, at least there were stories going on. I could care less about the Liam Is Dying storyline though I liked there was progresson, and that Steffy finally got through to Liam. And then the fashion show (wow Heidi actually got a line or two!) was a nice bounce back. I had wondered ever since it was announced and since BTG did one, if B&B would be able to keep up. And...I would say YES. Extras. Stuff going on. Cameos. Didn't look cheap like the one that Esther from Y&R was here for...though I liked that one.

I heard people hating the fashion show and Brooke being the showstopper. I thought it was cute.  What I don't like is how Eric is trying to play matchmaker for Brooke and Ridge. And it just gives us silly fights between Brooke and Taylee...and even when it IS a good fight...aren't we tired of this? I would rather Ridge and Taylee have their own drama...where is Morgan?...and Brooke is spun off into her own storyline...or messing with someone else. Wasn't she about to be on Daphne's neck for working to come between Hope and Carter? For example. 

 

So basically I thought it was a good week.

I decided to stream today's episode only because I wanted to see how Katie would confront Daphne. The only time HT's skills come into play is when she's on a mission to expose frauds - like Poppy and Daphne. 

Look at the difference between the lame girl talk scenes and the way HT slinks down the stage ambiguously quizzing/taunting Daphne.

Fun fact: the scenes with Eric, Brooke and Katie represented a rare time when the 3 longest continuously running actors shared the stage alone. It's hard to believe that HT has been there 18 years! Obviously, KB and SK had huge breaks and JG has mostly been non-contract. It further shows has HT has been wasted. I still consider Katie a more peripheral character.
