Members Paul Raven
The in initial promotion seems to have been very thorough. What are they doing now? Are there primetime promos? They really need to have a 'phase 2' strategy to keep up the interest and awareness.
Webmaster Errol Posted April 1 Webmaster Share Posted April 1 I believe Sheila Ducksworth said in a conversation at the Paley Center event that there is something big happening at the end of April, which would align with "May Sweeps," even though that doesn't really exist anymore except maybe for local stations. I expect Michele Val Jean, with the support of Guza, will deliver their first big sweeps event since the few days they had in February were primarily used to establish the show and its characters. Members MichaelGL
Let’s be honest here BTG was not going to debut at #1 or #2 in Total viewers or Households. It should go without stating that soaps like B&B, RH, DAYS, and AMC took multiple years to build their audience. BTG has solid demos and that’s a foundation on which they can build on. I’m quite impressed with these and the effect the show is having on the rest of the line up. Edited April 2 by MichaelGL

Members te.
Realistically, live ratings are going to keep ticking downwards for all shows in the coming years as more people switch towards streaming / delayed viewing. It'll likely be more of a question what shows can keep their live audience and which shows can start building an audience beyond those that just "switch" on streaming. Either way, the show is doing well. We haven't really seen a huge drop-off like with other soap launches (likely because live numbers aren't what they used to be). And as others have pointed out, it looks like the launch helped the overall line up perform better, which will be in the plus column. Either way, I'd worry more about shows like GMA3 than the remaining soaps at the moment as they keep having backstage turmoil. Edited April 2 by te.
