UPDATED: While “The Young and the Restless” (3.033 million) and “The Bold and the Beautiful” (2.617 million) came down some from their recent season high performances in the key sales demographics, week two of “Beyond the Gates” (1.740 million) saw an impressive hold among both Women 18-49 and Women 25-54 during the week of March 3-7, 2025, newly released Nielsen data shows.

The soap opera held steady with its premiere week performance, down a mere -0.01 among Women 18-49 (0.24 rating vs. 0.25 rating) and flat week-to-week among Women 25-54 (0.39 rating), proving viewers liked what they saw in week one.

The Monday episode (March 3, 2025) topped the series premiere (February 24, 2025) among Women 25-54 (0.46 rating vs. 0.44 rating), demonstrating that cliffhanger Friday is a thing when it comes to generating continued viewer interest week-to-week. That said, the episodes were virtually on par among Women 18-49 (0.26 rating on 03/03/25 vs 0.30 rating on 02/24/25, both rounded to 0.3).

Compared to the year ago performance of “The Talk,” “Beyond the Gates” continues to be a marked improvement for CBS, up +0.06 among Women 18-49 (0.24 rating vs. 0.18 rating) and up +0.12 among Women 25-54 (0.39 rating vs. 0.27 rating).

Among Total Viewers, the soap opera was down -70,000 viewers week-to-week, but was still up significantly over the year ago performance of "The Talk," up +516,000 viewers (1.740 million vs. 1.224 million).

“Beyond the Gates” is the first new daytime drama to debut on a broadcast television network in more than 25 years and goes head-to-head with “General Hospital” (1.882 million) in most markets, where it continues to outperform its competition in the key demographics, including Women 18-49, Women 25-54 and Adults 25-54.

Speaking of “General Hospital,” the soap opera managed to see week-to-week increases, up +0.02 among Women 18-49 (0.21 rating vs. 0.19 rating) and up +0.05 among Women 25-54 (0.33 rating vs. 0.28 rating). That said, the show was one of few to see year-to-year declines, dropping the most among Women 18-49 (down -0.05) and Women 25-54 (down -0.09), likely due to the big gains the show demonstrated during the comparable week last year when fan favorite Steve Burton reprised his iconic role as Jason Morgan.

Burton’s return helped the show to a seven-week high during the week of March 4-8, 2024, which was its fourth-best performance of the 2023-2024 season among Total Viewers (2.168 million) while tying its then season high among Women 18-49 (0.26 rating).

Elsewhere, “The View” (2.620 million) managed to attract its second-best performance of the season among Women 18-49 (0.27 rating) and Women 25-54 (0.40 rating), while the second half-hour of “The Price is Right” (4.296 million) hit a new season high among Women 18-49 (0.45 rating) and tied its season high among Women 25-5 (0.63 rating).

"The Young and the Restless" was on par with its year ago performance among Women 18-49 (0.29 rating), but was up year-to-year among Women 25-54 (0.49 rating vs. 0.45 rating). "The Bold and the Beautiful" was also up in both demos compared to the same week last year, with its 0.27 rating among Women 18-49 (+0.02) and its 0.44 rating among Women 25-54 (+0.06).

Bold dropped last week in viewers and households. This week they dropped in demographics.

Luna Is My Daughter was in full force story-wise.

Viewers are tuning out.

Glad for Beyond the Gates and their continued success in demographics.

I didn't think General Hospital was that great to see increases in demographics.

Thank you for the ratings, Errol. Much appreciated!

GH should worry, but I continue to want GH to get better and stay on the air. I don'T want BTG to put them out of business.

Honestly, Y&R and B&B should be as concerned as GH. That gap between them and BTG got smaller in the second week. Who knows what will happen?

B&B    2,617

BTG     1,740

LMAD (1) 2,085

Great to see BTG holding steady, huge improvement of TT. BTG is a breath of fresh air. Let's keep it going!

Those proclaiming B&B's collapse are fortunately incorrect. And, yes, like most B&B watchers, the show is just painful to watch for the past 3 years.
