I thought the scenes between Derek and Smitty today were much more smooth and natural.  Still not perfect, but at least I finally believed they are a real couple.  Also, the actor who plays Derek seemed to be settling into the role, and was finding a more natural cadence with the lines. Finally. Maybe he's been getting some coaching. I do notice an improvement, so I hope he keeps it up.

Mmmmm love to see Derek with Smitty. I'm still wondering who Smitty was talking to.

I think you meant Martin.

Same. Regarding Pamela. That is the most beautiful feeling watching this show. There is no backstory, or previously played-by issues. So it is fun to watch how things will unfold.

If I was writing, Pamela’s Spa would most definitely be involved in some underground Mob dealings that are connected to Martin’s campaign only because I enjoy a good umbrella story.

George is a HORRIBLE security guard. How did he not circle back around to check on Bill's house after learning Dani lied to her parents about her whereabouts? she had to be in there over an hour considering she passed out and got her friend to show up with all the requested items

Well, it had been exactly 15 minutes since I posted, and when I tried to edit, it was unavailable.  I checked it three times, and the post was 15 minutes old.  I'm not just making this up.  LOL.

I agree with you. I don't think Marquita Goings exactly nailed those scenes. Underwhelming.

I'd rather Dani call some guy for anonymous sex. I don't think she and Andre are a match.

I know Cady has her fans and her stans. I'm not one of them. I'd rather have seen Vanessa in that friendship role today. Cady's acting is too affected for me.

I cringed at Smitty in the apron. That was too much. Also too much? Martin saying "young horny bastards" in front of his kids.

hehe I'd be down for that, too. I just wish the director would film Derek without aiming the camera at his crown, where he's losing some hair. That happened all episode.

They also need to give Derek better dialogue. When he told Ashley today "I haven't appropriately shown you how much I love you," it was awkward because people don't talk that way.

I just can't with Bill and Hayley today when they got home. Their reaction to the picture frame and bottle of wine had me cracking up. It felt like a hilariously bad Sesame Street skit—"Who stole Cookie Monster's cookies from the cookie jar? Elmo, was it you?"

Yeah. I'm finally watching today's episode and I was shocked that they gave Andre a light colored jacket because I felt like all the guys in that age range have the same leather black jacket.

Mary Jenkins was less strict than Martin. She let Brenda start dating at 16. And the way Martin said "horny little bastards" was like a bad knock off of those transatlantic actresses.

    • This is a guess, but Kat is going to mess around and help get Leslie off on a technicality. She is too determined to go around the law. Sharon is so entertaining. The way she acted like Anita was about to trip her down or something at the end was hilarious. The silence from Tracy and Sharon when Anita called them out for not backing Barbara out was telling. They can't defend themselves because they were just as hungry for success as Anita was.
    • I am sure it was not what JJ thought was going to happen with Lucky or Lucky/Liz and I don't think JJ will ever be back.  That was just an awful return and his return in 2010 wasn't anything great lol.

    • I don't think this is anything but a pause. I think there's a lot more of Liz/Lucky coming up ahead. Think of it as a classic fakeout.  Edit to ADD: Well, crap. Ignore me. Outta there.
    • Now she used to be on the Directing rotation, so is this when she was off of it for awhile & now is back?

    • A Day Off from the Drama Felt Like a Breath of Fresh Air Honestly, I didn’t mind the change of pace today. The episode had a lighter tone, and it was refreshing—like coming up for air after all the intensity lately.  But, did anyone else notice that Bo's hospital room is larger than Marlena's living room? Chad and Leo: A Surprisingly Enjoyable Pairing I actually enjoy Leo in scenes with Chad. It's a shame Chad hasn't been given more lighthearted material before—he’s much funnier than I expected. At least we were spared the referenced Ari/Leo interaction (dodged that bullet). Gabi’s Hair: A Curl Too Far Let’s talk about Gabi’s hair. Those curtain curly-q bangs? Ridiculous. Not only unattractive but completely impractical. And if she doesn’t like living with Leo, then… move out. Yes, it’s Rafe’s house, but she’s the CEO and titular head of GabiChic. If Chanel and Johnny can afford rent, I’m sure Gabi could swing Li Shin’s old place (they've probably painted since Gabi found him dead, and Melinda was held hostage there). Rafe and the FBI: Why Though? I still don’t understand the narrative function of Rafe suddenly working for the FBI—unless it’s to explain why he’s perpetually off-screen. Side note: Has anyone told Elon’s team that the Bureau is hiring middle-aged men who talk to stuffed animals and are apparently set to retire with full pensions in less than a decade? Doug3 and the Mystery of the Necklace Now, Doug3 is suddenly concerned about the age of consent? Not touching that. Also—whatever happened to his friendship with Sofia? And how did he manage to find a loan shark when he only hangs out with high school girls?  How much could he have borrowed?  He changed his name and moved out of town, so he must owe enough for the loan shark to hire repo men to find him and photograph underage women. But the real head-scratcher: why is he asking Leo who bought the necklace? It’s Melinda. He knows it’s Melinda. Was this filmed out of order? Or did she fence it? I’m confused. Gwen Mention #1 (And we all know what happens when you say her name three times…) Cat: The Kookiness Has Worn Thin I’ve tried. Really. But I don’t like Cat. I don’t like her secret. I don’t like that she’s never at work covering Marlena’s phones. I don’t like her brand of kooky. I don’t like that she stopped blow-drying her hair. Honestly, I never invested much in her character because I figured she’d be gone by now. But now? I just don’t like her.
    • I'm actually stunned at the writing for Liz and Lucky today. It feels like a writing team that's out to make JJ look as bad as possible -- immature, irresponsible, and ridiculous. He comes off as a complete loser.
    • C-sign!!! Seriously, these numbers it's time to have a cyber party! #3 10/12 last weeks
    • Well, what a waste of JJ and Liz/Lucky. I sincerely thought Natalia was going to die in a drunk driving accident today, but I guess not.
    • Hhahahhahahhahhaha. Karma has begun her job.
