Still mind blow!! 😢😢😢 what a tough weekend this has been for celebrity deaths!

My condolences to his friends and family! 🙏🙏🙏

May light perpetual shine upon him & may angels guide him to his new heavenly home. May he be met there by friends & family that it's been years since he saw them last & may they be having a feast in preparation for his arrival. And may there be there beloved pets.

So sad to hear this. Drake and "John" will be sorely missed.

Unfortunately, some rumor monger was sharing the news all over twitter that he was in hospice before the family shared it. Some people just don't understand grace or common courtesy.

I hope his family had time to spend with him. Cancer is a monster.

I had no idea he was ill. And like many others have mentioned, while it was easy to make fun of his acting, especially at the beginning, he kept at it and he was always engaged. You could tell he really appreciated and loved being on the show.

My condolences to his family and all those who knew and loved him. It's absolutely tragic.

This is absolutely devastating. He was so young and always so full of energy when you saw him on screen. I had no idea so this came as a huge shock. Drake was truly a daytime legend and he left an incredible mark on the industry. Such a kind guy as well!

Was DH the greatest actor?  No.  But he never, ever phoned it in, no matter how screwy DAYS in general, and John's storylines in particular, became.  For that, I will always be grateful to him.

People underrate him to this day.

There is not a woman Drake did not have chemistry with and there is not a scene he phoned in. Ever. People always remember the goofy shít and make fun of him too much but there is a reason they did the Two Romans, there is a reason they didn't just swap him back out with Wayne Northrop. When Drake was on he was the epitome of the genre and he did great, great work.

Just devastating.

Yup! I likened his performances to Ron Moss on B&B. Even if they weren't the strongest actors they were their characters and the fans loved them!

I never followed DOOL too much growing up. After watching 80s/90s episodes available on YouTube a few years ago, I fully understood John Marlena's impact.

This was playing in my head after finding out the awful news.

I actually cried when I first read this and I had heard solid rumors he was very ill.  I just didn't believe it.  Not my John.  Not the most awesome dad in the world.  I hope all his loved ones know how much he will be missed by the daytime community.
A true legend and a stand up guy.
