The botched nature of this screams FV to me above anything else. Did he think just sidelining her for years would make her fans and the JaSam fans just forget about her, so firing her would be a blip? Those people have been rabid fans for 20 years. The other half of the Liason wars. Those JaSam folks are all up in arms for a pairing she herself no longer wanted to be in.

The timing is also not in Frank’s favor. The whole Blaze/Natalia thing was still simmering. Tabyana not having anything to do for months was still simmering. People that like Howarth and Easton were still simmering. The writing debacle. It’s a truly amateur and stupid move to make at this time when it comes to his public relations online.

There was always going to be an outcry, but Sam as a character has been a tired afterthought for years so I'm not sure it's going to be enough. I think if you'd tried this ten years ago it'd be different. I just don't think there's enough of them alone to make a difference, and it's not like they're great at coalition building with other fanbases, case in point what was mentioned above. Plus they've been dragging Nancy for supposed slights against Kelly for ages (mostly imaginary IMO) so there goes the Alexis fanbase. And a lot of Jason fans ultimately don't care about anything but Jason.

But hey, if you get enough of those prominent fans who fancy themselves insiders and still are reminiscing on misty memories of Kelly's work in the 2000s, who knows, a reprieve could happen. I just don't see this turning into a Genie or Becky Herbst situation. But anything that fúcks up Frank's standing works for me.

That much is true. (Though I don't think he's really taken any damage for ME and RH, lol) Maybe after ousting Mulcahey and reinstalling CVE he thinks he's invulnerable.

It’s gotta be something personal. Why else would they be killing off Sam and not just hiring Lindsay Hartley full time? 

I trust Errol as well since we know he fact checks down to the bone.

So going back to discussions months ago, there is clearly some BTS drama going on at GH. And it is NOT all about the money.

 

And it is not shocking...especially after everything that happened with PM...to see that some of it is personal.

And yes, conspiracy theories is exactly how they all sound when you step outside the nutso Twitter/FB bubble of toxicity. The tin foil hats are on and instead of aliens and the government controlling everything its big bad Laura Wright, Kate Mansi, Steve Burton, Eden McCoy, now Jonathan Jackson and whatever actor they have irrational dislike for onscreen and off that are the villains. Let them tell it they control the entire show from scripts to editing and these “fans” have to harp on it endlessly, often based on out of context scene clips and social media posts because they “don’t watch the show anymore….but”. 🙄

People really learned nothing from what just went down at Days or this very firing. These actors don’t have anywhere near that kind of power control anymore. This hasn’t been the case since the 00s when these shows got picked off one by one. Constantly blaming and harrassing actors for every little thing you don’t like onscreen and bts and picking apart every social media post is just looney tune behavior.

I’m a big Kelly fan but the finger pointing at her costars is just gross and needs to stop. TPTB made this decision.

It's not exactly a secret Kelly was speaking out against the show re: the Jason/Drew storyline, or that FV would not have appreciated that. Their having beef isn't likely a surprise to anyone.

Okay. Some Kelly have blamed the show. I suffer from major Clinical Depression so i have nothing but Compassion for Billy and his Family.

Do I think Valentini is petty enough to get rid of Billy because he isn’t being a “team player”? Yes I do. Do I think how Kelly behaved online and in the studio about the story would piss Frank off enough to sideline her? Yes I do. I also see him firing someone under the guise of budget that he just wants rid of, and can use several lanes to do it.

The stuff with LH coming on as a temp for the funeral when KM was available to film is very indicative of something being afoot. We know she is absolutely being paid for her guarantees and that the show is not working her enough to meet them this year. So she’s being paid for not working.

People saying this is just like what happened at DAYS is ridiculous. AA’s behavior is against the law. So far what we know about Frank’s behavior is petty and potentially vindictive. But that’s not harassment and sexual harassment level. The cast signed letters, asked for multiple investigations, and then went public. That hasn’t happened here. He’s just a shitty boss.

I may think Sam’s not needed on the show anymore, doesn’t mean I am not enjoying FV being roasted.

Seriously, why do some folks hate LW so f'ing much?  I mean, she's not exactly one of my faves, but I swear - reading this stuff in regards to her and KM's dismissal - there are peeps just waiting for the opportunity to shiv her in public.
