Emme Rylan (ex-Lulu) has verified this is a recast for Lulu.

 

I have never liked or enjoyed Emmy Rylan's acting in any role, like ever. 

Also agree on Stephanie Gatschet being of the blandest daytime actresses ever in the 00's. I think I randomly stumbled on her Instagram a few months back - seems like she's in the health & wellness space now and doesn't act anymore.

Rylan grew on me as Lizzie once they paired her with Jonathan but I could not stomach her Abby on YR and every time I’d try to watch GH again her casting as Lulu left me absolutely baffled. Whoever they cast hopefully pulls energy from JMB’s version.

Supposedly, Frank agrees with you. 

Rylan played the same ditzy blonde on every show. I never bought her as a Spaulding, an Abbott-Newman or a Spencer. I think she would be much better in a different kind of role.

I thought she was OK as Lizzie - they had made the character so dark when she was younger, and had also gone too far with Philip, that having a lighter but still scheming touch made some sense. It's not as if the Spauldings were a very dynamic family by that point. Rylan had a certain spark at times, even with Daniel Cosgrove.

Abby and Lulu are both dead end roles no matter who is in them. The best Lulu was the girl with the brown hair who was mute for about 8 years. Julie Marie Berman was just unwatchable and unbearably smug, and Rylan was...there. 

Given the state of most women on modern GH, I don't expect much better here, although ideally, she will manage to find a balance between being asleep and being a huge, entitled bitch. That is very rare with the show now though.

The show has never done a good job in casting Lulu. I doubt they'll do it right now. 

My favorite Lulu was the one they had in 1996, with the black hair and big blue eyes. 

It's too bad Ron Carlivati isn't HW.

He'd have Jonathan Jackson play dual roles in Lucky and Lulu in a blond wig.😂

I want Annika Noel from B & B. She has already been seen hanging out with GH cast.

I have never been much of a Lulu fan, but I do find her necessary on canvas.  I don't think the show ever got the casting exactly right, but JMB was pretty decent toward the end of her run and did have good chemistry with DZ.

I don't hate Rylan as much of the rest of you.  I thought she was okay.  The show gave Dante/Lulu a lot of stupid stories through the years (especially with the kids) so I give ER some grace on that.  It was very clear that the show was trying to marginalize Lulu as much as possible by the end of her run.

That being said,  I would try for JMB first although I don't know if she still acts.  If not, I am positive there are at least 15-20 blondes with daytime experience in the right age range that could play Lulu better than Rylan.  I still like the idea of Marci Miller.  I do have a slightly hard time imagining her with teenage children even if I do think she reads a bit older than her age.

I like Havens if it's a soap name, I also like the idea of someone new to soaps but can actually fill the qualities that Lulu embodied (or at least should).

Well the online scuttle is that Frank has been trying to get JMB back for a couple of years. Apparently there was a significant push recently to get her and she keeps declining. Whatever she is doing now she would rather do than get paid to be on GH. So recast it is.

According to Wikipedia, she has two young children, so maybe she is enjoying being a mom? 

We have been so lucky lately with the casting news out of GH, please please please can we get lucky again with this one?
