The Ric and Alexis scenes today did not disappoint at all. He really did come off as a great concerned parent and I thought Alexis actually held her own. But it is ridiculous that she has to coddle Kristina because she’ll fall apart if her parents don’t treat her like she’s 5 and the most special girl in the world.

Was actually surprised and pleased with the Molly and Dex scenes today.

Carly, Ric, and Liz as brief as it was was perfect. I do love that no matter what, when Ric is anywhere near Liz he can’t take his eyes off of her. I wouldn’t mind another round of Ric and Liz.

The Dex/Molly scene was a really pleasant surprise today and I enjoyed it a lot. I liked the parallel that was drawn between them and their relationships with their families. I hope they continue to build up something between the two of them. Don’t get me wrong, I like TJ, but it would be absolutely amazing to see both of Carly’s scumbag children get dumped/cheated on

Btw, is Dex’s mother gonna be showing up soon?

The Ric/Alexis scene was really good too. He’s fit back on to the canvas so effortlessly.

Portia/Heather, Skip.

And as good as Tracy was today, I think the recast ruined Lulu’s spirit and confidence a lot more than Dante leaving did

Does anyone know anything about this

https://www.youtube.com/@GHEntertainment1211  ?

I ask because I suspect that they make stuff up, fake soap news, etc. & right now they're saying that a recast Blaze will be back in September,

Maybe it's because I've been totally smitten with Kristen Vaganos for these last 3-4 weeks, but I just think she makes every scene more interesting.  She looked cute today too. LOL

Those Dex/Molly scenes were unexpectedly pretty good.  Maybe Molly will somehow help Dex with his family issues.

Given that Valentini's era is the one that watered Lulu down so much it's interesting to see them addressing and trying to give explanations. I wonder if Korte wants to return Lulu to being a mini-Carly, as she was under smugbot JMB's era.

I notice the only clips of her that ever get interest are when she's verbally or physically abusing other women. I don't know why that is a legacy to return to, but it just reminds me of what a worthless character Lulu has always been and likely always will be.

My favorite stuff with her was the abortion, and then the story with trying to figure out who really killed Rick/Scott going after her for killing Logan. And her initial love story with Dante. I can’t fault her for the other stuff too much because every woman was like that on GH at that point. The slaps and long hair flying was all over the place. Only Robin escaped constantly screaming at other women and was allowed to actually have female friends. And she was only spared really to be a foil for Carly.  But I totally get why Lulu is an acquired taste.

The only time I saw a spark of JMB’s Lulu with Emme was when they were gearing up for a fight about the kids in school with Willow as the teacher and Stafford’s Nina, and Liz.

Okay.  Fair.  Fiona Hutchinson.  So Dex will absolutely be written off because he doesn't immediately accept Mommy Dex's new behavior and outlook. She will then become the new sous chef at the Q's to help Sasha and also a Deception spokesmodel.

But...no $$$ for Kelly Monaco here.

Joking aside, after the depressing, miserable exit Fiona had on OLTL, I wonder how Frank feels about her...

(I guess he did bring her back for a cameo or two)

I do remember the abortion story getting some praise, but sadly I don't think that's what the show wanted from her given the hard pivot into mini-Carly. And that seems to be who Tracy misses. I guess the idea was meant to be she was a mini-Luke, whatever Luke was meant to be in those last decades.

I thought Lulu's abortion story was well done.  JMB can do good work.  Her smugness level is off the chain though.  They gave her so many love interests and she really only sparked with DZ.  And then it got weird where Lulu's entire life revolved around Dante.  And then the endless oddly conceived children!  I don't think any regime/writer/etc ever has gotten Lulu, but there is a lot of room for change/growth for her.

    • Sorry, just realized I'd somehow lost a whole paragraph in that last post.
    • Thanks @Paul Raven  They should have brought Billy back in the early '90s for more drama with Hart and Blake. Maybe Blake would have gotten involved with him to try to ruin him in Roger's eyes, but realize under his sweet nature, Billy was a player himself.

    • Watching the cult of Fetterman collapse is one of the few political bright spots for me. The best part  is watching all the people who built him up now decide they want to tear him down. I'll be fascinated to see how this ends for him. https://buckscountybeacon.com/2025/05/pennsylvanias-democratic-senator-john-fetterman-raises-alarms-with-outburst-at-meeting-with-union-officials/

    • Long ago, this Rachel fan channel uploaded a number of clips of Rachel with Felicia during the alcoholism story, and this one in particular stands out for me.

And then you have this scene, which is the dark mirror of the above, especially the final moment: Felicia started out as camp bitch on a very dreary show (with Cecile being the only somewhat fun character around that point) and then got into a lot of comedy. Some of the comedy was very stupid, but many viewers still felt drawn to it, to Lily, Cecile, Cass, Felicia, Kathleen, Wallingford. There was a vibrancy which Dano fit well in, her fashions and melodrama parodied in a gentle way. This was missing in some of the long-suffering parts she'd had had on shows like ATWT. By the late '80s, especially after Wallingford's death, those times were gone, and Donna Swajeski added further misery to Felicia with the Gold Street backstory. Luckily, after a bit of time the show found a good framing for this new twist on Felicia. The stories with finding and losing a love from her past, learning that a woman she hated was the daughter she'd spent years searching for, sinking into alcoholism, they all fit into the type of material suited for the '40s and '50s screen goddesses.  When Dano tried some of this old weepy type of material when she went back to ABC, it mostly fell flat, as the atmosphere wasn't the same and her character always felt shoehorned in. It worked perfectly at this period on AW because you had Iris, you had Rachel, you had Donna - you had a number of tough-but-vulnerable women of a certain age, most of them grandmothers by this point, but still trying to find love, find themselves. This is what AW could have had earlier if they hadn't dumped Pat and Alice, but better late than never. This is an approach you saw more often on British soaps than on US soaps, which for a number of years respected women in that age group. Both UK and US soaps have done away with this, both countries having the ladies devolve into perpetual ingenues (with added doses of endlessly self-aware camp in the UK) or just being shipped off entirely.  You could even see that on AW with the treatment of Iris (shipped off, never to be mentioned again, too old to return), Donna (repeatedly humiliated and crippled), Felicia (regressed into degrading herself with married John), Rachel (mother to newborn twins, put into lengthy periods of trauma through her new relationship with Carl).
    • I'm of a certain age where I caught some of Upton's final year and it was not great but Jean Holloway was worse. All I remember is Bambi, Bambi, Bambi!
    • Yes, of course, all of those servants added to the overall picture at AW & also people had relationships with those servants! I like it when Anita asks after one of the servants at the club, how their children are doing & like that.
    • Great scenes between Marlena and EJ today. Paula and Jeanne are making EJ have more depth than Ron had during his long drawn out tenure.
