I don't think it's fair to blame Vanessa for deals GH willingly gives her and for her to leave when it expires.  Do I wish she'd commit longer? Yes.  Has it screwed up long term plans? Yes.  But I can't fault someone for fulfilling their contract and leaving when it is done. She doesn't owe us or GH a lifetime of servitude.  I think every time she left her reasons were valid.

But Ingo's been trashed for way different reasons.  I don't feel it has anything to do with gender.  It's more like he's an awful person.  Not "difficult", "high maintenance", or "controlling" so I don't see the correlation there.

I also like Brenda & VM but I don't see Frank going anywhere anytime soon. (Or Mo.) So, it's not actually a real problem because it's moot. As fans we can talk all we want about people we want back on the show but some instances are high 98% unlikely. Others, actual chances exist. Frank even had Demi Moore set to return but then it fell through. I'm half surprised he hasn't recast Jackie Templeton.

And Ingo is not a fit for this.

So much Michael hate. I love him and he proofed time and time again that he can act but with what exactly? Writers seem not interested in his character and he doesn’t give a damn and takes the paycheck and is phoning it in. I wish Hayden would return for him. They were fire.

There is much more left in him… and he has great hair! I would miss seeing his hair

I think she's done a few with Mo over the last decade, but I don't know the last one.  It has to have been several years.  I think she was a special guest of Mo's on fanclub weekend maybe 6 or 7 years ago. They are both still pretty friendly so it's not terribly surprising.  Tbh,  I am not the best at recalling fan events because you tend to hear the same stories and info over and over especially with non-current cast member events.

It looks like 2014 where Vanessa was a guest at NLG's GH fan club weekend event.  That's not to say she hasn't done some events with others, but not at the fan club weekend.

Is Vanessa low key/high key campaigning for her job back?  Don't answer just let me live in carolineg's dream world for a while.

Frank has a rep of keeping his thoughts close and doesn’t share too much. Take with a HUGE grain of salt anyone on here who tries to report Frank’s thoughts and why he won’t allow people back on the show. The board spammer who knows Frank’s innermost plans for GH and would love for everyone to believe that they are in the writers meetings and report every decision Frank makes and why is full of you know what. Come on people. Frank is NOT the telling type.

I agree. The number of romantic pairings of contract players with recurring actors is such an odd choice. I think there will need to be some shifts made. I still don't get a sense of what the main stories are on the show that I am suppose to be seeing center stage. A lot of what is working for me right now is character's individual journeys. I just don't necessarily feel these are actual stories yet, but rather motivation and character exploration.

I imagine there will be some sorta of legal situation involving Sonny being potential sent to prison for the assault on Cyrus since that has been a talking point since Korte and Mulcahey were being credited. Dex and Joss broke up over it. There was all the talk the last two days about it. Now, whether or not Sonny's medication will be used as an excuse is to be seen.

I thought the Anna / Laura conversation was fairly strong. I appreciate the amount of introspection that characters are doing regarding explaining why they are who they are or why they have chosen to act the way they have. In some ways, Anna and Laura have been characters that has been drawn to dangerous men so their relationships with Sonny make sense. I'm curious to see if this attitude will be maintained as the show moves forward.

I thought the strongest scenes today were in the story revolving around Gregory's failing health. The show has done a really nice job the last two days having Gregory dispense rather sound advice to other characters regarding parenting as it highlights not only who he is as a person, but makes me care a bit more about him. I am going to be upset about his passing. I don't think this is the level of Stone's death, but I appreciate that there is an honest examination about a person's feelings regarding the fact that they are in their final days. I am not always thrilled with Michael Easton's choices, but I did find he did a better than usual job portraying the guilt Finn has over the affair with Jackie and the bitter hostility he has felt for his father. Alexis and Finn's scenes were really well done and that wasn't a dynamic I was expecting to enjoy.

Gregory's analysis of the Jake/Jason/Liz situation was intriguing because it leaned into Liz's feelings over this situation. I liked Gregory trying to compare Jake to Finn as I imagine this is a dynamic that they were trying to develop in those few pre-Mulcahey and Korte episodes I watched. I am assuming the vape story is being dropped. Who was vaping?

I thought Chase and Brook Lynn reflecting on their backgrounds was insightful, but I am only interested in this thread because I imagine Chase would receive some sort of money following Gregory's death and how that money will impact their dynamic.

    • Yeah, Martin really did make me laugh when him and Smitty jumped up to drag Leslie out. I am interested in seeing how this fallout will impact his storyline as well. Especially since he is so protective regarding his family/family's image. I am interested in seeing how he will interact with Eva for the time being, they did have a warmer interaction earlier on once they met. But he seems to have doubts about her possibly being Ted's right now. I wonder how long it might take for him to come around with her. I could see the younger generation warming up to her quicker than the older ones. Though of course I think there will be anger/tension for a while regarding the reveal and her role in it. Perhaps Naomi/Chelsea will ease up on Eva first then eventually Martin/Kat might down the line. I really do love Nicole. I'm glad that DD is playing her. She really is the heart of the family and also agree the show. She is so easy to root for and I'm looking forward to seeing how things work out for her. I am enjoying the development of most of the characters on this show. I enjoy most of them including Bill with his trifling self lol. I do feel that Bill's love for his daughters is genuine and that gives him some depth. A few of the characters I don't care for that much (like Bill, Ashley, Vanessa). I wasn't too big on Andre at first, but I am warming up more to him as the actor is settling into the role. I like most of the characters on this show. Also, I am interested in seeing what happens if Eva indeed goes and lives with the new doctor that was introduced. I could see this adding another layer to her story, maybe she will become more vixen-ish, on what type of relationship they end up having. And/or maybe she will end up becoming more hardened as she deals with being an outcast, especially if she falls out with Leslie as well. I think that AM will do a good job of showcasing the different layers of this character as she deals with the fallout of the affair/paternity reveal.

Got another sad news from the Bahamian community (not a celebrity)  https://www.instagram.com/p/DJMSrYCgyes/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== Former Bahamian Senate President J Henry Bostwick, Husband of former 1st Bahamian Female Cabinet Minister Dame Janet Bostwick is dead yesterday on his 86th birthday.    Thanks and for those who've aren't familiar with the talk shows in The Bahamas on this thread here, his talk show named The Freedom March with Dr Rodney Moncur that airs on ILTV and The Beat 103.5 FM Nassau every weekday afternoons. IIRC, he suffered a illness before he died.  Here's the link for his final taping of the show before his death: https://ewnews.com/this-is-powerful-rodney-moncurs-final-sign-off/

    • One thing I thought about is if Hayley will have a reaction to Bill threatening to kidnap and sell a baby. That's another level of viciousness and with her just having thought she was pregnant it might make her feel some type of way.
    • You're welcome. Fall 1982-Spring 1985 was the peak of primetime soaps. What a time to have been alive.
    • 1990/91 Cheers, Roseanne, A Different World, The Cosby Show, Empty Nest, The Golden Girls were still Top 10 shows, and Murphy Brown and Designing Women became Top 10 shows. It was the following season that I think was the transition season for sitcoms.
    • @xtr I loved Martin in Thursday's episode, he was almost a different character. I thought he was flirty, funny, carefree, and giggly. Glad I have someone to share my top 2 women(Nicole and Eva) with, I agree Nicole is the heart of the Dupree family, and also the heart of the show IMO. We rode into the show on the passenger side of her car, lol. What I am enjoying the most about the show, is that they did such a great job character building, because all I care about is the CHARACTER journey. Nicole, Eva, Leslie, Dani, Chelsea, etc. very invested in what's coming next. I even feel that way about Mona, Shanice, and Doug.
    • I know we have discussed the fact that Another World seemed to be planning a location shoot in Finland that got cancelled. I came across this item from the syndicated Soapbox column published June 14, 1982. "Soap operas have been experimenting extensively with on-location shooting in recent years to enhance storylines and increase their viewing audience. A major drawback is the added production costs involved. Another World, for example, cancelled a special trip for Victoria Wyndham (Rachel Cory on the show), who was scheduled to shoot scenes in Finland. The producers felt that the high price tag, along with resentment of the cast members who also wanted to travel but were to be left behind. was enough to scrap the whole project."
    • A few more thoughts about these last two episodes. I thought it was interesting how much disdain both Dani/Anita have for Eva. I thought it was amusing how Dani was calling her lying/conniving and how Anita pointed as if to say, "that part". They definitely are not here for her, and I could see them having harsh confrontations with her in addition to Leslie. I'm curious to see Kat's interaction with Eva on Monday's episode. I think it might be interesting if Kat (along with possibly Naomi/Chelsea) come around to Eva before Dani/Anita do. Of course, Kat will be understandably angry at her. But maybe a tiny part of her might feel sorry for her if she really does believe that she's Ted's daughter as well and that Leslie lied to her. I could see Kat confronting Eva again and warning her not to harm her family anymore. But I could also possibly see Kat admitting that what Ted/Leslie did regarding her was messed up as well. And maybe that will pave the way down the line for them to get along better. I also agree with the comments/speculation made in the threat that Nicole will eventually accept/probably love her someday as well. I still wouldn't mind if somehow Nicole ended up being her biological mother. They have both been acting like they care for each other in this storyline. Nicole somehow ending up being her mother would be soapy and provide some more interesting layers in this story. And regarding Andre/Dani's romance it seems like they are genuinely developing feelings for each other. I have missed episodes, so maybe more of this has been elaborated on. But it seemed like there was genuine affection between both of them when they snuck a kiss publicly in the hotel. And also, them both talking about going publicly with their relationship. I wonder what everyone's reactions will be should they be caught by someone together. Of if they flat out tell everyone about their relationship.
