I was just wondering due to the new 3rd hour of CBS Mornings in Los Angeles, if that will push The Gates back an hour, meaning it would compete against GH at 2pm.  That seems unfortunate.

I re-checked the CBS press release on CBS Mornings Plus and they do indicate the following as the headline:

Quote

New 9:00 AM Hour to Launch Sept. 30 on CBS-Owned Stations in Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Detroit and Miami and Simulcast on CBS News 24/7

In the body of the PR it says:

Quote

CBS News will launch a live third hour of CBS MORNINGS on television and streaming named CBS MORNINGS PLUS, which will debut Monday, Sept. 30 with Tony Dokoupil and Adriana Diaz as co-hosts. CBS MORNINGS PLUS (9:00-10:00 AM, ET) will air weekdays on CBS-owned stations in Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Detroit and Miami and simulcast on CBS News 24/7, CBS News’ national, free streaming news network.

Now, although they indicate 9:00 a.m. ET in the body, the entire press release opens with it being a 9:00 a.m. hour, so it can be presumed that the show will also air at 9:00 a.m. PT, however, they don't outright say it. Therefore, I may have misunderstood it?

I've sent out an inquiry and will get back to you on what I learn.

These character descriptions' seem very well thought out and specific, which is very good and gives me a lot of hope.

This part of Cheryl's description almost made me spit out my water when I read it, lol:

Cheryl’s no stranger to coke, which she considers to be the perfect drug. Cheryl, however, can put it down whenever she wants…

“Rick” is a white male in his mid-30s. He grew up down the street from a fire station. Rick’s fascination with the men who work as firemen only grew when one of the men there took Rick under his wing and schooled him. Rick is fearless, but his captain wishes he’d show more caution. Described as “sexy as hell,” Rick should have no problem fulfilling his dreams of being married, having kids, and working till retirement.

Chandler Massey?

Hollis Chambers?

Jacob Young?

Colton Little?

Zach Tinker?

I wonder if there will be any Asian characters. The current ones and their precursors all did a relatively terrible job at giving Asian characters agency and fully executed characterizations. It would be nice to see them The Gates steer their stories in a truly different direction.

Chandler lives in Atlanta last I spoke with him, so it might make things easier for him. I'm sure they'd want a 3x Daytime Emmy winner as part of the show's cast. He's also young enough to play opposite the younger set.

That would be exciting to see an Asian-American character come in at some point.

It sure would be nice to see him on a soap again. He could walk to his new soap.😂

Off topic...Do you know if Chandler is done with Hallmark and the yearly movies?

Ya never know 😉

Maybe he misses acting. And with the Atlanta residency requirement… 😂😂

So underneath her flash and glam, Cheryl is a cokehead? Well now, a previous article did state that this show would be, um, very real? So here it comes. As for Armand, he's described as being a fabulous dancer. A young Gregory Hines? Young male version of Debbie Allen?

I love this for Cheryl. These descriptions we have seen so far are fantastic and make me want to tune in just to see the connections and the world they are building.
