I think Fairmont Crest is to be its own fictional township/village/whatever. I doubt they're going to specifically situate it too much.

I'm just glad they went with DC/MD - it's a much more untapped and interesting locale for this kind of story than ATL atm.

Um... these CBS affiliate anchors don't know that Y&R and B&B are still on the air?

Fairmont Crest is said to be located in Prince George's County and its seems that a fair number of characters will live in DC.

I think ATWT's last opening was what all soaps need to be in this day and age: just a simple title card with some dramatic "sting" playing underneath (although, I could have done without the globe rolling across the title like some roll-on deodorant).

And I LOVE Kim Zimmer's description of GL's last anniversary opening: a bunch of hairy-ass arms reaching out to other hairy-ass arms, lol.

I like the idea of the GL opening with the poem, but the execution is a mess. It doesn't help that, like Frank Valentini at GH, Wheeler had a crippling fondness for the little children employed by the show. So you had little toddlers barely able to speak lines doing half the poem and being indecipherable.

Don't get me started on the Peapack opening and song.

I hated the voices doing the GL verse, kid and adult. The middle school guidance counselor voice that gave us “Comes baaaaack, into our ownnn” was the worst. I just like a good strong announcer.

ATWT’s last theme was great, but it just did not fit the show at all. That was a teen drama theme.

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times: love can save the world, but it couldn't save GL, lol.

Same here!  Besides, as fond of GL as I'll always be, that epigram?  Not so much.

    • I'm good with the gushing, too. There aren't many soap icons like John Black, and that's important to celebrate and remember. And yes, life does go on for other characters, but as they say, timing is everything. Going sky diving the day before the funeral? And during a week of shows that were so powerful emotionally? No.
    • No. There might have been a slight pause for dramatic effect after his "death," but pretty soon after they showed him in France getting plastic surgery and getting involved with his doctor, then planning with her to bring Christina to France. (She thought he had good reason to do it; she wasn't a bad person or anything). Now that I think of it, there must have been some kind of pause before that, during the 70s, because when Rita was accused of killing a patient when she lived in Texas, part of the backstory was that Roger had been there, too. Not sure exactly when or how long that was.
    • Thank you. She’s disgusting.
    • I've already stated that I don't like Doug being written as this meek and submissive. It was so lame watching him leave her like that. Vanessa can divorce him, but she then needs to get her thot ass into therapy. She's not only having sex with every guy she runs into, but is now having  sex with a skeevy perv on a poker table. I'm going to give the BTG some credit here. For months, many on this board were delighting in the Vanessa/Joey flirting and what they saw as chemistry. I think we're now seeing what the writers always intended -- that Joey is a disgusting POS wannabe mobster.
    • John Black actually was the ultimate good guy soap hero. So I don’t mind the town gushing over him. It’s deserved.
    • Be glad it wasn't a Perry production.

    • The whole town gushing over John Black as if he was a saint is eye rolling.  I guess death really colors people's memories over his many flaws, but I guess that is normal and human nature. I'm still confused as to why Leo hasn't been written out.  The actor stank up two soaps with his sub par acting, what does he have on TPTB's to remain on these soaps.   What's the point of Cat?  I hope the new head-writers figure out her purpose and develop her character. And I much prefer scenes not focusing on John's death because life does go on for the world when someone passes.
