The truth is, no song -- no matter how great -- is worth the money it would cost. It is crazy to spend considerable money on a regular basis to use any song. BTG should have its own theme.

I do think a good opening and theme matters, and I hate that network TV has all but given up on them. That's one thing the streamers do exceptionally well on so many series. I love the way an open makes a statement, sets the mood/tone, and announces "This show is important."

It's probably what GENERATIONS' opening should've been and wasn't.  But I could've done without the "L-O-V-I-N-G" part.  Thank you, Jeffrey Osborne, but we know how the word is spelled.

BTG is a brand-new soap for the 21st century, so any theme song for it should have hip-hop influences.

Bruh, some of yall need to touch some damn grass and stop going back and forth with people on the internet who don't care about you. I also typed more but then I remembered - no one gives a F about what a I think lol The same is true for literally all of you, too!

The promo excites me. Like I said before, I'm not expecting something revolutionary or noticeably different from what we already consider to be daytime soap opera. Once it was confirmed that this would be a daytime show, my expectation has been for it to look comparable to Y&R and B&B. The country club aspect is interesting, and I wonder what greater ties exist between it and the Duprees. Like, it feels like they might own it? If this has already been established, forgive me lol

As someone who's been fascinated with the artistry behind soap opera title sequences for a long time, it's a weird feeling to say that I'm almost apathetic about BTG's opening. B&B, Y&R, and GH all have garbage CGI overdose openings, IMO. Look at B&B's current opening and compare it to the original from 87-04 and tell me which one looks like a cartoon and which one looks like a TV show for grown-ups.

See, and I was thisclose to saying that I would actually like something similar to Only Love for the fact that it was simple with natural landscapes and faded in clips of the characters. The song was major ass, and that whole vibe would not fit BTG at all, but give me something like Falcon Crest, following that car from DC to the country club, with a piece of moody music set to a nice beat (kinda like the Dynasty reboot), and I'd be impressed.

But ultimately, yes, just please don't give us something embarrassing.

I'm actually not expecting much visually from the opening - I think those sort of cheesy cast shots with them turning (or showing off bling) is probably what will be used. I'm more interested in the tune itself - I want it to be catchy and distinct to the show. Yet I'll admit I have no idea how I even want it to sound beyond that.

No song for me.
Just a beautiful intro with no faces that can last for years and years.
This is what tv shows have been doing (since LOST?) and it is what soaps were doing until the time they started obsessing with DALLAS and DYNASTY.

Everyone says that they want the show to be modern. Which modern show features the cast in the opening?

See, for me, I don't hate the opening for General Hospital. DId I prefer the 2012–2019 opening? Yes. But the problem is how inconsistent they are in updating it. Plus, I don't think the template they use is meant to house 24 cast images (which are horribly cropped and overly saturated).

The current opening for The Young and the Restless wouldn't be so cheesy if the turns were so close, they used the jazzier 1999–2003 opening, and used the backdrop of the mid-show bumpers. Plus, they don't even update them, which is why the 2003–2017 is what would still work best.

What we ordered:

What showed up:

What showed up years later when you re-ordered:

This is why I'd love a cast-less opening (although, if the shots in the teaser are for an opening, I'm okay with it) with an overview of Fairmont Estates.

Raises hand. Hated the billowing red porno opening. But I was so attached to the white background and piano version of the theme, which I felt better represented the hot-cold dynamics of the show. That porn opening was overheated and too much (and felt to me like a too brazen way of “modernizing” a show that didn’t need it). Now, in 2024, I wouldn’t mind it with the current visuals. It needs something to give it energy and they long since abandoned that traditional Y&R feel so it doesn’t matter as much to me.

The theme/opening for BTS should really set the tone for the feel of the show. Whatever MVJ’s vision for it is.

If I had to guess, it's because of how different the theme was in comparison to what it had always been. And, if I know one thing about Y&R audiences, is they hate change. But it's the first opening I ever recall watching, so.... I love it. And the fact the end of the jazzier theme is still used in mid-show bumpers is exciting. I'd love for it to come back!
