Members BetterForgotten
Paramount+ from all media accounts has not been profitable and has been a source of concern for Viacom, so even a moderate success on that platform would be notable.
Members Chris B
I've heard this and I wonder why they seem to be struggling so much. They have a pretty big and diverse library. I do think one aspect I find confusing is how Showtime is within the app, but separate which makes it difficult to find those shows/movies. The app definitely isn't very user friendly and doesn't highlight just what they have.
Members Khan
Wait, what? CBS is getting rid of PlutoTV? Oh, HELL no!
Members te.
I'd assume they would want to fold it into one platform, but yeah, it's actually my most used streaming app. I wouldn't follow it to behind a paywall though lol. Apparently Netflix France have ordered a musical (!) daily soap opera and has given it a direct order for 90 episodes. So I definitively think it's a question of time before we see a daily soap opera that's specifically developed for streaming at this point.
Webmaster Errol Posted November 25, 2024 Author Webmaster Share Posted November 25, 2024 While that may one day happen, similar to Amazon's shift to FAST by integrating Freevee into Prime Video across all users, and later disbanding the Freevee brand altogether, currently there are no active plans to do the same with Paramount+ and Pluto TV, at least no current reports of such plans.
Members Marco Dane
It would make sense to have airings on BET in the evening.
Members John
Is BET Viacom?
Members Vee
I think they'd have to be real stupid to shutter Pluto. I don't see that happening right away. I am very curious about this musical soap opera for Netflix lol.

Members Liberty City
I think that would be a smart, and decent idea, honestly.
Members BetterForgotten
BET, like its sister MTV, is basically a wasteland of repeats and marathons of shows at this point.
Members Faulkner
Pluto isn’t doing that well (was the top non-YT free service but has been well eclipsed by Roku Channel and Tubi over the course of the past couple of years), but part of it is that Paramount+ is where corporate attention is focused. Members Vee
I don't want to derail the thread, but in case anyone else was curious about this it's apparently this. Maybe we can set something up for it in the Foreign section when it gets closer if it looks half-decent (I am curious about the musical elements, which remind me of Jacques Rivette's musical Up Down Fragile).
Members Liberty City
Oh wow, thanks Vee! And if not in the Foreign section, perhaps in the Netflix one!
