As far as openings go I expect this to have something like B&B does with a full title sequence at least once a week and a shorter title card sequence for the rest of the days. There were clearly portions of an opening credit sequence in the promo.

I actually like the music for the Generations open. It initially has a nostalgic feel like Coronation Street's theme tune. I do think that the open has way too many historical images. It should have transitioned to actual cast photos once the 1980s sax kicked in. I also like the three trees at the end, though I wish the title was in a prettier font. I'm a big fan of soap symbols: hourglasses, photo albums, lighthouses etc.

The Generations music is nice, it's the visuals that were all wrong. Something like the later years of Ryan's Hope paired with the music would've worked better. Or even something like Love of Life's later opening which was similar to Y&R's with the cast photos.

The show itself often got negative criticism, but they had a wonderful "faceless" opening and kept it that way its entire run.

And for good reasons, too!  You can't put that kind of crap on five days a week and NOT expect people to hate it!

But, you are right: at least their opening didn't suck too badly.

I really dislike intros with lyrics in general, but yes, the images and the feelings they provoke are absolutely wonderful. A gothic soap opera with supernatural overtures. Which is why the show itself was so disappointing lol. 

I also loved Sunset Beach's first intro, though it was very 90s Aaron Spelling prime time soap opera.

I would say that Passions is probably the best example to go by IF BTG is to have a non-cast opening. Decent theme song (lyrics or non-lyrics) with footage of the show's setting.

I agree, though I get the feeling we'll get a cast opening since both Y&R and B&B have it. I don't see why BTG would deviate from the standard on the network.

I suppose recycling CAPITOL's old theme graphics would be a bad idea...
