I mean, Victoria Grace was actually proven to be cheating lol.  I just think it's a little phoney when a character that's practically a lead like Eden is going into a kid's category because she can.  And I will say my Queen Vanessa Marcil and Steve Burton did it too in supporting when they were both clearly leads.  It's equal oppurtunity here.

Listen the maid gets paid for cleaning the sheets not the couch!  She didn't even pick Theresa's sweats off the floor!  She doesn't have to dust or do dishes.  This maid is living the good life.

If John and Steve weren't drunk they could have used their PI skills to figure this out!  But let's just ask our buddy Shane-leader of a world criminal defense agency-to handle this petty crime!

Nicole/Ari and EJ/Dan are still killing it. I expected something like what EJ suggested today to happen for them. It’s completely natural, especially in a situation like this. And so was Nicole’s reaction.

Still enjoying Tate/Holly as well. I like how the actress has been playing the character. Holly still comes off like an inexperienced teenager with a crush, but at the same time, she doesn’t play it as bratty and annoying and that’s always a good thing lol

And I do see some chemistry between her and Tate. They’re no Sprina lol but I’m ready to go along for the ride with them. One of them could really use a friend their own age though.

Good cliffhanger with Eric and Sloan too

Because she’s like 20 and competing in a category that supposed to be for actors 18 or under.

And she’s got a lot more to show than two child actors. It doesn’t seem fair at all

She should’ve dropped out when Victoria Grace did.

Victoria Grace wasn't intentionally cheating.  The Emmys changed the rules for the cutoff age from 26 to 21 for younger actor, but the Emmys botched publicizing the rules change, so VG didn't know. (She was 23).  Once VG learned of the change, she immediately voluntarily dropped out.

Regarding Eden McCoy - there was the lack of clarity in the rules as to the month and day of the cutoff.  If you calculate it one way, she got too old before the cutoff and shouldn't be eligible; but another way to interpret it is that you just had to be age 21 within a vague time frame to be considered young enough to qualify as younger actor.  It ended up that the second interpretation was not challenged, so Eden remained eligible.

Heck if you read the rules as they were written, the child actors were too young.  It was really botched!

N'Neka Garland was the longtime producer at GH who really ran GH from behind the scenes.  She also helped with organizing the Daytime Emmys.   She died suddenly earlier this year, before the Emmys nominations were announced.  I bet if Ms. Garland were still alive, she would have prevented these snafus.

I don't think VG was intentionally cheating, but technically she was.  I don't think VG hatched a plan to steal emmys from young children or anything.  She was ineligible, she dropped out, not harm no foul here-except on her team that didn't clarify the rules perhaps.

As far as Eden, I didn't even know there was an issue with her age at all.  Interesting.  I just thought she made the cut off barely and took the easiest route to an Emmy.  I just don't think it's an impressive win when she's competing against children that don't appear very often.  There has to be some way to make this category a little more fair.  There's a huge difference between kids that appear sporadically and an actress that's been the younger lead on GH since she was about 13 lol.

Anyway, on to the show today.

AZ continues to kill it.  She is just so good. DF is doing great too.

Holly continues to charm me even if this entire plan is stupid.

Why on earth is Chanel selling baked goods outside in December?  The little plastic table set up has always been silly, but that makes no sense.

I enjoyed the show today.  Much improved from yesterday.  Even Leo/Dmitri didn't bother me that much.

I didn't realize there was an interpretation issue for Eden either. @janea4old  Thanks for adding that clarification! I quite honestly don't know what they should do with the Younger Actor category but it sure seems off this year!

But, today's show, hooray, not boring! Dimitri's bangs even look better. And, the scene with him & Leo was actually good. They needed to catch each other up on what the other missed that night after the wreck.

Holly & Tate are definitely an oddball couple!

Leo going to see Nicole, pretty good cliffhanger.

TL:DR from Jamey Gidden's YouTube interview today, he's back at DAYS as a breakdown writer.  He remains as pretentious, derivative, and lacking in self-awareness as ever.

Also he admits to never re-writing a draft more than once.

    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
    • I thought Emily/Hal was a really interesting pairing. And I think KMH played that version of Emily very well! It might not have been what people wanted from Emily, and the writing got pretty gross at the end, but I thought she embodied that character effectively.
    • Don't know if this exactly fits here, but it is connected: Does this abandoned building look familiar? It is one of those explorer videos - and the outside may look VERY familiar if one watched GH in the '70s and '80s!

    • So, I have been in the hospital all week. I am close to being up to date on my soaps. Now I have to go to the Infusion Ctr daily to get IV antibiotics, for 6 weeks. I am frankly exhausted. A hospital is no place to be when you're sick. Hooked up to machines that go beep beep beep all day & night long. Someone wakes you up every hour on the hour for something, either to stick you with needles or to take your gosh-awful blood pressure for the umpteenth time. So, you don't get any sleep. Now I have a central line, upper right chest. After they "installed" it, I said, I am now Borg. They just stared at me. Apparently scifi is not general knowledge. What happened? I have an infection inside my big toe right foot & it burned the skin on my foot. The burned skin is already better. It was like a bad sunburn. The infection inside the toe is the issue. Oral antibiotics won't even get its attention. So, IV antibiotics plus time.

As Salem bids farewell to John Black on Monday, the "Days" family and fans say a final goodbye to Drake Hogestyn.   From his time as a young man playing baseball in the minor leagues for the New York Yankees to his almost four-decade run as John Black, Drake always did his best. And, while becoming a soap opera icon, he spent almost 40 years at "Days" telling the best stories and taking the younger cast under his wing to make sure they would do their best as well. Thank you, Drake, for the legacy you have left for everyone at "Days." The impact you made on the cast, crew and fans will never be forgotten...and that's a fact.
    • I found an interview with Joseph Breen (Will Jeffries) where he mentions that Reva was put in a coma so Zimmer could go to Hollywood to do a pilot (OMG, if ONLY it had been picked up, LOL) and that Sonni and Josh and Will became a popular with the audience while she was out of commission.  If you want to read the whole thing: https://www.authorsden.com/visit/viewarticle.asp?id=47394 Breen was known for being very candid in interviews, I wish I could find more of them. I seem to recall he made a couple of snarky comments about Zimmer, implying she was not above acting like a diva. Sounded to me like he had a lot of respect for Forbes (who went on to have a very strong and varied career after GL).
    • I was so confused why Devon was prying into Nicks love life and then it clicked and I remembered they’re brother-in-laws. Shows how little I pay attention to this show anymore. I was like uh? Do these two even know each other this well?
    • The Bell soaps, B&B and Y&R: cannot watch. If I went by the last time I did I would have to give them both D- but I really don't think it counts when you're not a daily watcher.  DAYS: B+ (Now this is with the knowledge that for years I have given this show a D- because I've been a fan for too long to give it the F it deserved.) GH: A+ (With Korte driving this bus to me the show is so much better! IMO we just had the best NB in so many years I cannot count!) BTG: A solid (Things I love, a few I do not, nothing I hate, still find it in general remarkable.) As always, thanks for doing this thread. I count it. I always look for it & I always post.
    • Okay, I continue to maintain that what is so good about this particular reveal followed by umbrella storyline is that you can see & understand many different points of view where there is not one bad guy or one 100% right person.  About your stated opinion, that Lois & Gloria did the right thing, you know that this was technically an illegal adoption? For it to have been legal the father, if known, would have to have been informed & have signed off on terminating his own paternal rights. And, of course, it is clear how many people they lied to.  Personally I feel like Lois is going to take the biggest "public" blame with Lulu a close second in the blame category. I am looking forward to a tongue lashing I hope Brook Lynn gives to Gloria. I continue to be more than annoyed with Dante. First his attitude toward Gio with regards to Rocco & a drinking game & its results. Second his attitude toward Lulu. Meanwhile enjoying the show every day!
    • Lois and Gloria did the right thing I feel knowing it was Camila that raised Gio has BL feeling some jealousy No one is saying that Camila was a bad mother to Gio I believe it will be Gio saying that Camila was great to him, thanking Lois and Gloria to get BL to see truth
