Sheri was an advisor when Ron first started but that didn't continue. Per Jason47, Sheri was credited as "story consultant" for episodes airing July 19, 2017 - Jan. 17, 2019.   Then  Ryan Quan became Ron's story consultant after that.  But Ron has his own ideas.

What's airing now is the last several weeks of material written by Ron/Ryan and team --  before the writers strike material begins airing.

As to what Sheri was (or was not) doing during the strike, see my post here:

I may not understand why people still watch the test pattern formerly known as Y&R but I don't think we need to haunt the threads critiquing their posts for even daring to view it. Let's let folks watch DAYS even if Mr. Twink Death 2023 is over on Hallmark and not currently on contract.

WHILE the investigation into the abusive fired EP was going on, today's episode was taped, and in this episode, a character sexually assaulted another character.  The script was written by the firedguy's wife.

I read the spoiler article from the actress on the SOD website, so I was forewarned, and then I checked for recaps before watching today. It did air so I chose not to watch.

According to several recaps: Gil tries to rape Ava, and she barely stops him, and then Gil debates the definition of rape and says it wasn't that?

How the heck did this air? Oh right, because Kenny left the firedguy in charge.
(and because Ron)

Okay, yes, Gil did attack Ava & suggested that she stop fighting & that she might find that she enjoyed herself. She pretended to consider that & relented fighting & then pulled a gun on him. He said he didn't believe she would use it. She shot him. So, it's not exactly as you said. But, sure, in the ballpark.

I refused to watch it, so I was going by what I gathered from reading recaps.
Several recaps said that the rapist claimed he wasn't attempting rape, or he tried to explain what rape is and claimed that he wasn't doing that.
Whatever actually aired, I don't know, but if it was close to that, it's very offensive.

Sheri did declare herself FiCore status but we don't know if she went to DAYS or if she went to GH or if there was some other project. I thought she was at DAYS because at that time Deidre posted a picture with her but it turned out to be from several years back.

Yes, I understood where you were coming from. I watched it. I was trying to say as little as possible. The only thing remotely about it that he said was that she should stop fighting because she might find she enjoyed it. Maybe 2 lines of dialog. And, he was wrestling with her the whole time he was saying it. He was very aggressive. Clearly  attempted rape. NO DOUBT. So, you chose well for yourself. I was completely unaware.

Tamara Braun warned about it in a spoiler article, but I didn't post it because some of what she says in the article hasn't aired yet.
This part has aired:
“If you watch the episode, there should be no question that he tries to sexually assault her,” declares Braun. “It was a very uncomfortable scene to shoot. There was no ambiguity while shooting it. That’s for sure.”
If anyone needs a source for the quote it's here:
https://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/exclusive-days-of-our-lives-preview-gil-assaults-ava/
But warning that most of the article has stuff that hasn't aired yet.

Thank you. I'm going to go read it. I do or don't see spoilers just however it happens. I'd rather not but I find that they are hard for me to avoid.

It's a good solid article. The by-line is Janet Di Lauro. She used to write for Weekly many years ago.

    • Very. They're building up his story again and picking the perfect time to do so. As the SilkPress storyline climaxes and go off in several great directions, they are building up that story to take a turn.

    • @Soapsuds Thanks for posting Night by night Mon 8pm The Rookies edged Gunsmoke but attracted younger(more desirable) viewers.NBC failed with Born Free/Smothers Brothers (how many different series did those 2 get??) 9-11pm  Maude/Rhoda/Medical Center dominated on CBS,but Football and Movies were competitive on an occasional basis. ABC tried  SWAT/Caribe later in the season and the former worked for them. Tues 8-11 pm CBS all the way Good Times, MASH, Hawaii Five O,Barnaby Jones. NBC had the fading Adam 12,Movie and Police Story mmm...don't see that listed? ABC Happy Days, which ABC decided to keep despite lackluster ratings, the Movie of the Week and Marcus Welby-once pulling big numbers but no longer. 8pm NBC had a new hit with Little House, easily beating Sons and Daughters, which was axed and replaced with Tony Orlando, which did much better. ABC had That's My Mama and the Wed movie. 9pm Cannon was the lead here as Lucas Tanner failed to capitalize on the LHOTP leadin. ABC continued the movie. 10pm Manhunter started strong for CBS but petered out and was cancelled. Petrocelli manged to beat Get Christie Love, which was replaced by Baretta-no ratings winner but ABC decided to renew. Thurs Another CBS night with The Waltons and a movie. ABC counterprogrammed with Odd Couple/Paper Moon then Barney Miller/Karen NBC did even worse with Sierra and replaced it with Mac Davis which improved ratings quite a bit. However, it was moved to 9pm for Sunshine/Bob Crane 9pm Some good numbers for ABC with Streets of San Francisco fending off Ironside,Archer and Mac Davis. 10pm Harry O had a slim victory over Movin On Fri 8-11 NBCs best night Sanford/Chico/Rockford/Police Woman. 8pm CBS had high hopes for Planet of the Apes but it bombed. Replacement Khan did even worse. Paul Sand and We'll Get By were tossed in at the end of the season. With poor lead ins the Friday movie didn't deliver. ABC's odd line up saw Kodiak flop, Six Million dollar Man struggle and Texas Wheelers  quickly cancelled. Kung Fu was brought in @8 and Six Million moved to 9. Then Kolchak took over at 8 and Hot*l Baltimore/Odd Couple 9-10. Despite controversy Hot*l flopped. 10pm ABC tried Kolchak then Baretta and finally Get Christie Love Sat CBS lead  with #1 AITF then Paul Sand/MTM/Bob Newhart/Carol Burnett. Paul Sand lost too much of the lead in so CBS spun off The Jeffersons and it was a smash. NBC did OK with Emergency (which beat Paul Sand on occasion, thus hastening that show's demise) and a movie. ABC was a disaster with New Land/Kung Fu and Nakia all failing. They introduced a movie @9 and moved Kung Fu to 8. Sun  NBC  with Disney and Mystery Movie (Columbo McCloud, MacMillan and Wife/Amy Prentiss)did well. ABC flopped with Sonny Bono and recovered by moving Six Million Dollar Man from Fri as a lead in to the movie. CBS hoped Apples Way would be another Waltons but no, so Cher did what Sonny couldn't. Kojak and Mannix successfully finished out the night. Two other shows on the ratings list were Adams of Eagle Lake starring Andy Griffith. Only 2 episodes aired and did well, so I'm not sure what happened there. As for The Law it was a series follow up to a 2 and a half hour NBC special movie .

    • Trust is very easily lost and very hard to re-build.
    • Oh, I know it was. I was just talking about how it's not giving me parallels to Caroline dying. It's really as far from it as possible.  But about the foreshadowing - Hahahhahah. Yes. And you missed one - Liam googling - "what is cancer"...
    • GH 2-17-21 Denise Alexander's last appearance https://www.instagram.com/p/DJdjXgwJ1Ez/
    • @Maxim This Liam dying out of the blue was crafted in a hurry for three reasons: 1. To facilitate JMW's leave 2. To prop Steffy - 'Oh, Steffy has so much grace and moral superiority that she ignored everything that swine HoLo did to tell her for the sake of their daughters. Queen Stephanie would be so proud of her!' 3. Distracting Steffy enough to give Lunacy an easy way to slither into Finn's life. Once Luna discovers that Lame is dying, she'll play that card: 'Dad, life is too short and precious!' If this was an intentional story, we would've had the typical B&B foreshadowing - Liam faceplanting into a bowl of pasta, Lame missing meetings, being forgetful. Instead, Lame does an impulsive quick quit and $B doesn't even care enough to make a single attempt to get him back? Please.
