Next week in The Locher Room, we’re bringing together four familiar faces from the world of daytime television for a conversation that’s both a celebration of Guiding Light and a look ahead to an exciting new creative chapter.
On Tuesday, June 30 at 7:30 p.m. ET, I’ll be joined by Grant Aleksander (Phillip Spaulding), Michael O’Leary (Rick Bauer), Robert Newman (Josh Lewis), and actress, attorney, professor, and playwright Sherry Ramsey, Grant Aleksander’s wife of 39 years, who daytime fans will remember from Guiding Light, As the World Turns, and Another World.
The occasion is the upcoming world premiere of DEVOUT, Sherry’s first play, which reunites Grant, Robert, and Michael on stage alongside actor Robin Nuyen. We’ll talk about how the project came to life, what inspired Sherry to write it, and what it has been like bringing this talented group together for a story that will premiere August 27-30 at ShenanArts.
And because June 30 marks the 74th anniversary of Guiding Light’s television debut, we’ll also celebrate the show, the friendships that have endured long after Springfield faded to black, and the legacy of a daytime drama that continues to connect fans around the world.
