I didn't see this speech, so apologies if it's up again:

I think people, and studios, assume that Fran Drescher is Fran Fine... and that is a very bad thing to assume.  As she proved in this video, she isn't Fran Fine.

Okay one question I have that I haven’t seen answered yet is, can actors from network code SAG shows like daytime do interviews and appearances or not? I wonder if some in solidarity won’t of course…

Yes. They can and will. The SAG-AFTRA (TV/Theatrical) strike does not impact Net Code shows due to separate contracts.

There's some humorous irony in the fact that earlier in the week there was so much criticism online about Ms. Drescher's presidency, then one great speech later everyone is like, president for life!  Actors love a good performance.

I don't think those people (many of whom have been unhappy with her for months now, or never supported her in the first place) have changed their minds. They're just trying to get through this.

He really goes in on Netflix.

(all the weird Zack Snyder cultists have tantrums)

Ron Perlman has some strong opinions. Damn. Whichever executive made that comment about waiting to force workers out of their homes did unions a big favor in terms of public support.

Unbelievable stuff. And as someone who's been screwed in other ways not connected to this strike but not dissimilar in this business, just harrowing to read.

Matt Damon was misquoted on this by Deadline to make it sound pro-studio and his lawyers came down hard on them to correct it. I think these are his full remarks:

The great Lois Smith, Llanview's own Aunt Betsy Cramer from OLTL and a legendary character actor of cinema (I could not believe OLTL got her at that time for such a silly part), quoted by Mark Ruffalo:

LOL at Cox calling out the DGA. You can never muzzle him.

I see that Hollywood Reporter deleted Sean Gunn's video because of the claim that Netflix isn't the one who should be paying the residuals.

Yup! First time I've ever seen her upset.

I guess none of you saw her discussing how she was raped or her cancer battle. While she played a humorous character and is known for that Fran Drescher love her or hate her is a lot more than just the nanny.

And, I mean, it is called "acting."

The studios believed that they didn’t need the writers as long as they had their film libraries, movies in the can and actors to prance the red carpet. Well, things have certainly changed, haven’t they?
