Yes, he's been a personal friend of mine for years.

Oh, OK! Makes sense. Did you work in the industry to if you don't mind me asking?

UGH, it's all about him as usual

He needs to let it go. The time he spends bitching about being on Y&R, he could've landed an acting gig elsewhere--Lifetime, Hallmark, UP... somewhere! It is enough work out here for him to get something.

That is a very big assumption in this day and age.

I don't actually think this strike is the death knell for GH or DAYS at least. I suspect they have planned for the strike and will muddle through one way or another. Y&R is another story.

They are never recasting Jack again and most likely never firing Nick lol. I also think Griffith would rather cut off his arm than dump Thompson, MCE and several other played out people.

And they couldn't fire Melissa Claire Egan right now anyway because she's pregnant again. And like you said Jason Thompson is too much liked by Josh. If anything, I would write off Elena, Tucker and Chloe for starters.

I will say that I go a number of places in an Internet day & it sticks with me when I hear certain phrases or sentences echo in different places. Like, for example with both DOOL & GH people say "Make it make sense." or "This Makes No Sense."

Well, what I am hearing different places about this, yesterday & today, is one sentence, "This will not end well." [sigh]

What a small-looking desperate MAGGOT! He'll never be brought back, and he needs to get over it at this point.

No, I did not work in the industry. And, don't mind your asking. My partner, girlfriend, wife, whatever, did.

Oh Tom, believe us viewers. WE are so happy that you are no longer in the circus of daytime.

Tom Casiello - the guy who put in his profile that he was the one in the writers room who took the longest to read the lunch menu. He was concerned about lunch.

A well-plotted serial killer story line where all of these (minus Billy as I have a soft spot for the character) characters died would probably get me to tune again again.

Thanks! But it is good that he has moved on to a more lucrative industry.

I wouldn't kill off Jack, Mariah, Nick or Billy but the rest can be up for grabs in this serial killer story. I would throw in Elena and Tucker too.

Nick can die. The character has had no progression in decades and basically serves as a "stud" to breed ingenues with at this time. He can go.

He's working. He's happy. it's a good thing. He spent more than enough time agonizing over Bryant Montgomery's death, etc. He's probably always gonna stick his head in & say hey every once in awhile in soap territory & why not? Mostly, it's just not a big deal.

For everyone that keeps posting how it is possible to write a strong network daytime soap with very limited writing teams- it was.  But nobody working on these shows now has shown that kind of talent in decades.  Decades.  The likes of Harding Lemay, Labine and Mayer, Nixon and Bill Bell are long gone.

The firings are awful, not just because they were breakdown writers and script supervisors.  It’s because Josh is still there.

I love this genre but once again, if you have to cut costs to the point of what we now see onscreen with Y&R, perhaps the time has come for drastic change or to plan for an ending within the next year.

This.  Because Josh.

It is because of Josh and the whole there may be writers who are striking as the reason why. If they had kept two out of the five breakdown writers I figure there would have been less of a complaint. Eliminating the whole job level was surprising and he is supposed to be the sole main producer, head writer and then doing breakdowns. He isn’t one of the legends of daytime that we know were capable of doing so many jobs.
