The January 6th Committee announced on Tuesday that due to the potential impact of Hurricane Ian on the Florida coast that they will be postponing the Wednesday, September 28 hearing which would have preempted “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “The Talk,” “General Hospital” and “GMA3: What You Need to Know.”

“In light of Hurricane Ian bearing down on parts of Florida, we have decided to postpone tomorrow’s proceedings. We’re praying for the safety of all those in the storm’s path,” read a statement on the committee’s Twitter page.

A new date for the hearings has not been set but will be announced soon.

“The 1/6 hearings have shown that Trump knew his effort to overturn the election was illegal & unconstitutional. He did it anyway,” said outgoing Rep. Liz Cheney, a committee member, while speaking on the Electoral Count Act, a bill that’ll clarify the Vice President’s role and the electoral process in certifying future elections. “Trump’s conduct was illegal under existing law and would be under our new bill, too. Our bill also prevents other future efforts to steal elections,” she added.
