I know a guy who was married and knee he was gay but still loved his wife and had two sons with her yet he was cheating on her with several different guys. He finally got caught by the wife. She said she always knew he was gay and what he was doing with other guys. She was waiting for him to come out to her. It took time for him to come out though. The wife divorced him and left with the kids. He is now living his gay life in San Diego California.

So it does happen.

Of course it happens in real life.  Probably a lot more than people know.  But for Nancy/Craig there has never been an indication

1. That Nancy would know or condone cheating

2. Nancy would suspect he would be cheating on her with a man

3. Craig has ever been attracted to men

I mean this has just started and maybe the reason he was so obsessed with Mike back in the day is because he had a secret crush on him.

I agree with those who said NB and KS were good.  I never thought they were bad, but they were pretty good today.

It would have been great if they somehow would have referenced his Mike obsession, and if Craig said, he'd been struggling with those feelings the whole time. Pure guess on my part, but what if this guy turns out to be...LEO! I could totally see them going there.

Paulina has been a breath of fresh air since her introduction. I'm interested to see how her ex being in town plays out.

I just can't with Rafe/Nicole/Ava. All are great actors with dreadfully boring characters. I could not care less what happens with that trio.

That was the first thing I thought of when I heard this rumor-now truth.  I would totally be okay with the show putting that into the context of Craig knowing he was attracted to men for a long time to give it some sort of history to this brand new behavior.  It does makes sense if you think about it.  He was weirdly obsessed with Mike's love life.

It would be a shame if a serious situation had Craig being in love with LEO.  I don't doubt it, but he would leave his wife of decades for LEO?  Leo's fun in certain situations, but he wouldn't be in this one.

I'm worried about that too; that Craig might wind up getting hurt for nothing. Maybe by some miniscule chance, they'll bring in another gay character

NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HERE???

It's...it's too much.

That said...sadly yes, it does happen more than people think in real life. That said...it sounds like they could have done this arc so much better if they had to do it at all.

It's been a long time, but I do think when they introduced Craig they said he was a cheater and married his wife for her money.  But they backtracked on that once they cast PD as Nancy.  There was talk from Nancy taking away her daddy's money if Craig wasn't chief of staff or something like that in the very beginning though.

    • Overall I was impressed with this week and fall out from the revealation.  I am looking forward to seeing the Nicole/Dana showdown next week.  I do wonder if June is going to be tied to Hayley.
    • I thought Adam and Sara got married? Although I do not remember any mention of her when Adam returned for Blake's weddings. But MA certainly got the short end of the stick storywise, as Marland's obsession with therapy reared it's head.
    • Didn’t Meg Bennett return to SFT as a writer in the last few years. I always wondered if they tried to get her back as Liza.
    • Millette Alexander got the short end of the stick once they killed off Joe. The Justin thing was a non-starter. Then she was briefly married to Alan's corrupt lawyer and HE was killed off. She was paired briefly with Adam and that ended because she believed Holly over Roger about the rape. Definitely, Marland had zero interest in her except as the therapist for the many, many of his female characters who needed therapy. It's not odd she left the show. One of the rare 1978 episodes on YT shows Alan going to Cedars for a physical check-up. He ends up with Sarah as his doctor. In between making mysoginistic comments about women doctors, he also openly flirts with her. It's very obvious they were chem testing Sarah and Alan. It's a really good scene. Bernau is both obnoxious and charming and Millette is amazing, trying to be pleasant and profesional without rolling her eyes at him, but at the same time maybe a LITTLE bit attracted to him. An interesting what-might-have-been. So it appears the Dobsons were actively looking for someone to pair her with, they just never found the right one for a long-term story.

    • First, let me say I love reading all of your takes and thoughts. They always provide a different point of view... a breath of fresh air... in this sometimes stuffy topic.

You've inspired me to add my 2 cents about this product placement debacle.  I absolutely HATE the way they are doing product placement in BTG. I really hope this doesn't catch on or evolve into more and more of these moments. It's incredibly off-putting to place them in a highly dramatic moment where we are still on the emotional journey with the character. What is next - Dani spraying the house while having a nervous breakdown? It makes me not want to buy the product they're selling. LOL. That's just me.
    • I always get the vibe that Martin/Smitty have an emotional abusive relationship set up... but I doubt the show will really go there with that element given that Martin is a Dupree (and we can't have the Duprees be portrayed in a negative light), and because it's a gay male relationship.   Even though abuse in the physical or emotional sense is a huge thing in a lot of gay and lesbian relationships. The Ashley/Naomi scene reads off to me for one reason....  Ashley was talking about the new scandal without any sort of mention and/or subtext.. considering she knew both Silk Press Sheila and Eva.  I'm not sure if the writers have forgotten, if Jen Jacobs isn't able to play subtext, or what.   It's just apparent the writers do not know how to write a young white millennial couple.. and perhaps they need to get a younger white script writer to be on staff... or let the actors play around with the lines to make them more natural/realistic.
    • This is as good a time as any to point out that the 90 minute show was, what I like to call  "cockamamie idea" of Fred Silverman, head of NBC Daytime Programming. He did so well at ABC & CBS but not so NBC. We learned this from a WOST interview with Pete Lemay, 2006, can be found on YouTube, audio only. Now, to be clear, Rauch was completely behind it. Only Lemay fought against it & eventually quit over it.
