Who knows?

I thought it might be budget related but we have a new Noah coming...

There doesn't seem to be any story related reason. Had Abby reached out to Stitch, then that relationship could have grown and then Chance returns, but that didn;t happen.

Will we see Nina again?

No. Phyllis kicked her out.

New Noah? Hopefully better than the last one, I never cared for him. They aged Noah but the recast lacked charisma and wasn't the best actor.

If they're not going to recast Chance then they should have Abby divorce him. She has a doll baby and the writers think an absent hubby is going to work in perpetuity?

The party was hilariously bad. The lack of a crowd for what was a party with rich people.

Still Sally tossing that drink in Phyllis' face was fleetingly entertaining.

Nick's voice..... can Joshua pretend to be at least slightly enthusiastic? I'm guessing Phyllis tops.

Michelle Stafford should have taken it down several notches with Phyllis stomping around, not enough champagne for 14 people? I'm surprised she didn't take someone's eye out with one of her floppy discs.

I think it was his hotel room.

I don't think the chemistry is scorching or anything close but I do like their banter.

It's nice to see Sally being something other than the punching bag of others.

Wait. Had

been announced for a cameo and I missed it?

I don't know if this is going to sound rational but while I don't feel amazing chemsitry between the actors either I like the chemistry between the characters in that they are a good fit and their flirtation is written well so far.
So I am fine with it... if they manage to write good story out of it down the line.

I don’t get it either but I do think we’ll have a new Chance at least by November sweeps. It reminds of the time frame between how Muhney left as Adam and Hartley came on as his replacement but that’s about the only example I can think of replacing a dismissed actor in the middle of a story.

Funny but that's how they look to me all the time.

Quick question-

With Adam and Chelsea always claiming their deep parental love for Connor (who they seem quite happy to ship out of town) have either of them ever shown any interest in their other children?

I know Chelsea willingly gave up Johnny to Billy and Victoria, but that was before those two split up and hooked up with others.

Does Chelsea really not care for the welfare of her child who is now practically being raised by a stranger(Lily). How convenient that in a town where people can run into each other several times in one day that Chelsea,Billy and Victoria never cross paths.

Adam discovered Christian was his right? But never shows any interest in his other son?

This bugs me more than Chelsea/Johnny because one of Adam's thoroughline was his bitterness at Victor choosing not be in his life during his childhood - despite Adam having a loving replacement father figure in Cliff.
You'd think Adam of all people would consider it important to have a relationship with his biological son regardless of whether he has a loving adopted family.

    • Nick told Victoria that he and Sharon had married in England.  Victoria was shocked.  Then she realized he was kidding.  He confirmed it was a joke and they're platonic. I don't even know what to say about that.
    • It's funny you say that because part of the entertainment of the trials on the show are all the day players who come on as witnesses and jurors.  I'm certain it was like the Law and Order of its time. It employed so many New York actors, that if you look close enough, there's usually someone vaguely recognizable in the courtroom.
    • I will defend Dante.  People already suspect he may be a bit unstable from time to time (from his time as a prisoner).  And, he's taking care of other people's kids from time to time.  So, he has reason to be cautious with those in his care.
    • Josh continues to try and milk Abbott/Newman rivalry. First it was Billy/Victoria, then Kyle/Summer, then Noah/Allie (that worked out well) and now Kyle/Claire. Do we have any inkling when Billy Flynn will arrive and who he will play? I'm sure Cole's illness will mostly play offscreen. What's in store for Nick and Sharon? Is it time to put them back together? I can't see any other romantic options. Nick has no children on the canvas to play off, as Christian is never seen. Sharon has only Mariah onscreen.
    • I would appreciate (if they're not coming), for future scripts to refer to them by their iconic hairdos.  For example, if Hope needs to call Chelsea because Bo has Sepsis, I'd like Shawn-D to say, "My Mom called Chelsea (the one with the sassy short black hair) for an update." Also, new rule, if Melanie does return, she needs to dye her hair back to red.  I googled who she was five times during Victor's funeral.

    • Broderick, thank you for all of the info [I edited for space]. I am so grateful for everyone filling in the blanks for me. I suspected the Nora/Eliot scene was very important and it was setting something up but I didn't know what. Can't wait to see it play out. The two actors had such a great back and forth. I should have made the Paige/Patty Hearst connection. I thought Paige was in love with Brian from the first episode I watched but it seemed as if they were brother and sister. Steve kept being affectionate with her so I assumed he was the love interest. Then she was affectionate with someone else and well..she's a very busy woman. I can't wait to see Frances Fisher show up. (I'm trying to be vague because I don't know what would be a spoiler in this storyline) Now it makes sense why Draper would be upset. I didn't get the whole background of why he didn't go to NY. I'm a sucker for good acting, so I might still side with April and Margo, if the writers don't give Draper more to do besides yelling.  He had more chemistry with Logan, but I know that's not happening.  Something else I noticed: the show really takes care with even the smallest parts. The acting is superb. Too often, I noticed on older soaps they don't take care with the recurring or day players (Ryan's Hope was so bad with this that I couldn't make it through some episodes). It's only been six episodes, but so far, the casting department was spot on.
    • I thought Dante was overreacting.  Gio made some mistakes but he's young and he tried.  It's not like he dragged two 14 years to a party and made them get blackout drunk.  Dante can have the initial upset reaction, but to go on and on was a bit much.
    • His (adoptive) nieces.  Chelsea and Stephanie.  I think Abby was involved too, but I am not sure if they are related lol.
    • That was such a dark story. I never liked Swamp girl after that. And then the dating your cousin thing. I think wasn’t Max in a triangle with two of his cousins?
    • Thank you, @j swift.  I'm probably more sympathetic to Draper Scott than most audience members are -- even though I'm absolutely CRAZY about Ann Williams & her bizarre Margo Huntington character

The more I watch these episodes -- and I've watched several of them a zillion times, I'm ashamed to admit -- you realize there's a WHOLE lot of passive-aggressive hostility brewing inside Margo Huntington about Draper.  She wants to take April AWAY from him and recreate the childhood that she never got to experience with April, because of the adoption 25 years ago.  Draper has sense enough to realize how heartless and vindictive Margo really is about other people's lives and their feelings, but he bites his tongue rather than poison his wife's mind about how horrible her mother really is.  And I admire him for that.  He's a sweet boy.
