Johnny?

And I posted this in the news thread about her leaving but I'll repost it here.

I'm sorry Lind is leaving. She's really come into her own as she gets older and I was hoping they'd let her continue to grow in the role. But I also understand Lind is in demand and would leave at any chance for a lead role elsewhere, so ... I get it.

Darn! That hurts. And like @detroitpiston said, part of the reason I liked the Faith story up to where I am at right now is because we got to see this actress (and the one before) grow up before our eyes a la GH Robin, OLTL Jessica, Y&R Cassie so the audience already has an emotional attachment to her. Not to mention the shades of Cassie the storyline itself gives. All of that gets taken away with a new actress.

But best of wishes to Lind. She has been busy and it's been good to see the studio work with her, but it is what it is.

Here's the earlier tweet on the same casting

More pics of him here.

https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4590844/mediaindex

LOL his IMDB says he's a classically trained Shakespearean actor.
It says that here too:
https://www.backstage.com/u/donaldbowen/

But all he's really done is this one movie

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/adventure-force-5-vudu-trailer-kids-take-mysterious-terraborgs-1258072

Someone asked what role he's playing. .. well ..

Wed March 24 CDN / Thurs March 25 US,

Faith wanted to go to Crimson Lights to meet some mystery "boy" who has been texting her.  The person texting (supposedly a teen boy) said he'd arrive with a red backpack. Faith had her mind made up that she's going to meet this mystery boy, so Nikki agreed to take her.

Nikki and Faith were seated and a teen-aged boy walks in and sits down
-- but his backpack isn't red. He's carrying backpack that is gray or black.  He walked in and sat down in a booth and didn't seem to be looking to meet anyone.

Since his backpack wasn't red, and he wasn't looking to meet anyone, he couldn't have been the person trying to meet Faith. Faith and Nikki waited some more but nobody came, so Nikki took Faith back to the ranch.

Here are some screengrabs of

"Unnamed Boy with no lines at whom Nikki and Faith stared for a few seconds"

This tweet isn't mine but it captures the same scene:

So does anyone thing the boy with the black backpack who had no lines -- is the actor Donald Bowen?   The site that announced his casting sometimes makes announcements about dayplayers, so I don't know.

I guess he could be Johnny since Johnny isn't blood related to Faith although he has been raised as her cousin. Connor is related and I assume this guy is a love interest for her. He reminds me a little bit of Michael Graziadei. I can only hope he's as good of an actor.

@janea4old that doesn't look like the same guy to me. That scene didn't amount to anything. It will become apparent if you watch the next episodes after that one.

Yes I agree that the scene didn't amount to anything. Jordan was texting and pretending to be a boy.  Faith and Nikki were there waiting for a person who didn't exist. Jordan was torturing Faith.

My point was that sometimes the soapoperanews website announces someone is cast, and then it turns out to be a dayplayer.(This doesn't happen often but occasionally it does). I was just speculating that maybe all the actor does on Y&R is that one random scene with no lines.

Another random theory .... maybe Faith meets runs into that "boy with black backpack" in a week or two somewhere, and even though they don't know each other now, maybe they meet later on and say "hey didn't I see you at Crimson Light a while back?... hello my name is ... " . He could be a new character unrelated to anyone.

I'm just throwing guesses out there.  I'm probably wrong but it's fun to guess.

    • I don't think they had any idea who he was this time last year. I think they were keeping their options very open. Same with totally dropping the Trina romance that was spoiled for him in the mags once FV clearly took a shine to him. Frank's priorities are bright and blazing in one color. I do think Gio and Emma seem to have worked out given that she is very dry and sarcastic and he is like a hot golden retriever, but I'd still play the field or explore quads with both with very different people - Emma with a scheming young man (of color), Gio with possibly Trina or someone else, or even a boy. Then maybe put them back together, who knows. But of course none that will happen.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
    • Thanks. I must have missed that period entirely for Lifetime.
    • Thanks. I know Marland did that type of thing sometimes but it's less likely with these characters. I don't even remember Alex ever mentioning him.
