I can't even begin to process the news. My mind is absolutely reeling right now. I just...I can't.

My mouth literally hung open for 2 minutes when I saw the news! 😥😥 it seems like we just saw her in “Beetlejuice 2” and she had just reunited with Macaulay for his Hollywood walk of fame ceremony.

It’s cliche to say somebody was my childhood but that’s exactly who Catherine was to me. I have random Delia quotes pop into my head sometimes as well as “KEVIN”!!! Too! Such a gut punch but at the same time she’s reunited with her dear friend John Candy too! 😢

The way this was written seems prepared, so I'm guessing a quiet cancer? I hate speculating. But gosh, so unexpected.

Lots of obituaries are created and updated well in advance for famous people so as to be ready to go, so I wouldn't read too much into it from that angle. We'll have to wait and see if there is more info.

I am shocked and saddened by the news.

One of Canada's all time greatest treasures. Even as a kid watching her in Home Alone and Beetlejuice, it was easy to realize how wonderful she was. How amazing that she got a beautiful second wind with Schitt's Creek and her rightful praise and accolades that accompanied her afterwards. They'll never be another like her. I thought about her frequently in fondness, and now I'll remember her forever. Thank you Catherine O'Hara for gracing us with your expert talent as an actress and comedienne. I already know when I watch TCM Remembers 2026, the sight of her will hit me like a ton of bricks all over again.

Catherine O'Hara was another of those ubiquitous lifeforces you just took for granted. I thought she'd never die. Certainly not now.

She was brilliant in everything she did. I am so sorry to hear this news. She was a blessing and Canada was so proud of her.
