Here is a preview of what to expect starting in 2020 for Y&R. As well as some other SOD spoilers for the next couple of weeks:

 

Nick and Chelsea will end up finding their relationship on solid ground as Chelsea spends more time with Adam. She will do this because she is committed to helping Connor. Theo will insinuate himself even more into Kyle and Lola's lives. Kyle will be running out of patience and his rivarly with Theo will explode. Summer will try and play peacemaker for them.  Abby and Chance's blossoming romance will be challenged by a third party and she will deal with more drama at the Grand Phoenix.

 

An unexpected discovery will threaten Sharon's relationship with Rey and bring an unexpected family member back to GC. Billy and Amanda will find themselves in a dangerous situation that will make them question the true nature of their relationship. Victoria's relationship with Billy will be compromised once she learns of his friendship with Amanda.

 

Elena will stand her ground in order to protect her relationship with Devon. She will involve Devon and Nate in a passion project and will continue to keep an eye on Amanda. There will be a major power play at Jabot that will cause Jack to play peacemaker. Ashley will visit to see family and settle unfinished business. Also Michael and Lauren's world will be rocked when they learn shocking news about a family member. And Phyllis may get a new romance as she sets her sights on GC's eligible bachelors and also tries to fight her way back into the Grand Phoenix and maybe take down Abby in the process. 

 

Spoilers for the next couple of weeks from SOD:

 

Nick will turn the tables on Adam, Jill will give Chance the third degree, VIctoria will worry about Billy, Victoria and Nikki will celebrate the New Year in style, Phyllis will flirt with Chance. Sharon will make a startling discovery. Chloe and Kevin will share news, Nikki will issue a warning. Adam and Chelsea will kiss. Tessa will get a shocking offer. The new guy Tanner will arrive and will offer her the opportunity to go on tour with him, but there will be more to that than meets the eye. Lily will also return home for a visit and Victoria will make a shocking discovery.  

 

Some people are speculating that Rey may really end up being the father of Mia's baby and that Mia will be brought back to town.

None of this really matters since we know they'll get a new HW, but it just seems like more floundering. Introducing new stories and ideas that will go nowhere then if JG does stay he'll just rotate in other nonsense. I think it's gotten to the point where any potential Michael/Lauren story you can view as a joke because you KNOW that won't last lol.

Yeah all of this sounds like the same 3 week nonstarters JG hasn't been able to get off the ground since he got here. 

 

Its hilarious to me that they clearly have no idea what to do with Michelle Stafford. She might as well suck it up and ask them to pair Jack and Phyllis again

It’s hilarious that they went through all that trouble to bring her back without a plan. They just thought that snatching her back from GH would be a coup in and of itself. They’ve gotten absolutely zero benefit in terms of story or viewers from ditching GT. One issue is that all of the people MS had chemistry with (save for Josh Morrow and Sharon Case) are off the show or apparently off limits (Bergman). I often thought Gina was a bit extra in her portrayal of Phyllis, but Michelle’s mugging is intolerable. That scene with Phyllis wrapping gifts in the hotel lobby while taunting Nick about Chelsea was just unwatchable.

I swear, every time I see her cheesy-assed grin, I want to throw something at the TV.

What IS the situation regarding Josh Griffith and a potential replacement?

We’ve heard everything from a 3 month extension (though that has apparently been debunked) to names being spoken to, as well as him possibly being out within the next few weeks.

So why do Y&R fans on social media want Sharon to have an illness-centered storyline when Y&R hasn't had a good disease-focused storyline in almost a quarter century?  Are folks this naive to be trusting JG to deliver when he hasn't delivered since...ever?

Illness story? Sharon? 🙄😒 What, here comes a kleptomania redux story for Sharon? Is that what this "discovery" and "unexpected" family member is about? Aside from alcoholism/substance abuse, porn addiction, and mental breakdowns, I can't recall a single illness story since Jessica Blair died of AIDS in 1990. Ashley had cancer? Miraculously cured after leaning Brad slept with Olivia. Victor has epilepsy?  It was just a spiritual journey! Katherine's memory lapses? She was bitten by a tick! Nikki has MS? A change of head writer occurred and now she does not!

I almost fully expect Stafford to be let go at some point in time in 2020. Phyllis has had zero story since Da Stafford© came back to the role and is now barely utilized expect to throw shade lol. I wonder if Stafford, who apparently is still walking the tightrope, is satisfied with her decision to come back. 

i'd say the fact that they're not throwing MS into any her-focused SL's right now but stay using her to big up the newbies says more about how much the show values her clout than whatever nonsense y'all think. LOL They have literally used her to help push nuAdam and NuChance. 

 

as opposed to MCE who they just stapled to JM as soon as she hit GC. lol Mess.

 

the way they are handling MS is the way you handle a returning character, imo.

Nineteen years ago when MS steamrolled back into GC as Jabot's newly hired webmaster and immediately mixed it in with her old friends and lovers Malcolm, Jack, and Michael. If MS had any clout she'd already be married to JM's Nick as we'd endure Phick part 17. Instead we have a 55-year old red haired cougar wannabe who is a sounding board.

There better be something amazing on Monday February 10 for Eric Braeden's 40th anniversary. Since his actual anniversary February 8 is a Saturday, I figure the Monday episode will be Eric's anniversary episode.

They know JG can't deliver and have been complaining about him for months now. Some Sharon fans are calling them out on how the story would be awful. Be a waste of time just like bipolar story JG penned for Sharon. 

 

It's agenda driven I guess some feel if she is sick with Cancer gets her out of the way.

MS is a single Mom of 2, I'm sure as long as she is getting paid de big bucks, she good, where is SC, AH, or MMs clout as JG clearly doesn't know what to do with them either!
