I'll be honest that the writing isn't doing Stafford any favours, however, I just don't think she has grown as an actress from her time away. You always know what to expect in her performance. Admittedly, the actors she's been getting paired with have done her no favours either.

I'd have to agree and I don't even have a problem with Stafford. With the way they wrote Phyllis this past year, they should've written the character off altogether around the time that Gina Tognoni was replaced. Perhaps give her a year's rest and bring her back in some shocking twist involving Jabot or something. Oh well. Instead we have her as the town pariah with nary a friend to confide in.

So Stafford’s Phyllis sees a woman with the exact same face as her dead best friend and there’s zero reaction.

I already had had my fears that Stanford wouldn’t have the same chemistry with Mishael as Gina did, but the writers didn’t even try to acknowledge the relationship between Hillary and Phyllis. Boooooo

Phyllis, like half the cast, has been around way too long, with so much story baggage.

When Stafford left last time, Phyllis should have been written out and Gina could have been a new character, although new characters seem to flop repeatedly.

Apart from Summer, there is no reason for Phyllis to hang around GC. Summer could still be around without her mom - that's happened plenty of times before that characters family members are not around.

Interesting that Phyllis/Nick and Phyllis/Billy have been revisited but Phyllis/Jack seems out of bounds... wonder why when Jack seems aimless ATM.

thank you so much for posting this. very informative....with Peter saying "it was written in the stars" that Victor has to win every battle. loved how emotional he got when talking about his wife. and how he would like Jack to leave Y&R.

Yes, those scenes were great and heartfelt. I know people say that Braeden doesn't try as much, but he always hits scenes like this out of the park.

And call me crazy but Theo and Lola have some great chemistry! Much better than Kyle/Lola. Theo actually makes Lola tolerable

I am digging them more. just got back into Y&R for a bit.....I think Cane is masterminding this entire thing with Katherine's estate.

I honestly prefer Gina. I have given Michelle a chance, and I honestly believe it to be the writing, but she's all over the place, and the screaming again...GT could do understated SO much better than Michelle.

I think he’s a very genuine guy, but dude will cry at the drop of a hat. (And I know he got choked up about the passing of a dear friend, but PB clearly has a lot of emotion brimming under the surface. I suppose anyone who watches him as Jack can see that.)

It’s just sad what daytime has become and the tricks actors employ to do even passably interesting work. But it’s funny hearing the little snippet of Julianne Moore talking about trying to salvage the heavily expository dialogue even during an era we deem a golden age of soaps.

I would love for Peter to write his biography, because I really believe he would let loose on what he has really gone through being on the show. 13 shows down to 4 because of bad writing, horrible stories, recycled stories, bad acting, and the networks no longer giving a darn.

Bergman doesn’t seem to be the type to me at all to spill the tea and gossip about what happened behind the scenes.

For one thing, it’d be career suicide to do it while he’s on the show. It’s irrelevant anyway — I don’t think he’s that guy.

    • lol Cass and Donna went on a bowling date!
    • As well as insulting our host, being rude to members who correct you, and having an inflated sense of duty. While others may be able to add numerous offenses, the egocentrism to force any conversation off-topic to focus on you is the most egregious act for me.  This is light entertainment, an interactive discussion, not the shallotpeel-hour.
    • Yes, that is why. I mean, not last minute but it was not what Shapiro originally wanted. First, she tried to buy the show. Then she tried to buy the character. Meanwhile several other companies also tried to buy the show.
    • I thought I had stopped & then I saw this post from you. To be clear I said I was wrong. I have not made an attempt at any backpedaling. There is literally no place to back pedal to. I did 3 things. I deleted. i apologized. I said I was wrong, egregiously so.
    • I think bringing Dano back to OLTL as her original character Gretel/Rae was a last minute thing because P & G wouldn't let ABC use the Felicia character. So even though she had ties to OLTL from back in the day, she just didn't fit into the OLTL of the late 90s/early 00s.. nor did she really fit into the other soaps at ABC either.
    • I don't think they were the biggest factor, but I do think there's a specific style to Dano's work that wasn't helped by how pointless her character often felt (and later on the various writers clearly saw the character as a joke).
    • I think Evie came in mid 1976 after Rita broke up with Tim because she realized she was leading him on.  And Evie became upset with Rita because she didn't tell her that she had previously dated Tim before she came to town.
    • Please stop, you were wrong, and you know it, now you're trying to back pedal. You even got called out by the DAYS actors/actresses on Twitter for that sh*t. It was disgusting and vile and IMO the family should have taken action against you It was clear the general public did not know about his illness and it was NOT your place to "spill the beans" just because you run a Facebook group, period! TBH IMO @Errol should have banned you ages ago Donna
    • Who went bowling? JFP & Anna? Is there any more to this?
    • Another character driven show with interconnecting plots that make sense. I like that we go from one character, like Sarah, learning that EJ wants to buy the hospital, casually mentioning it to Xander who now has that intel. The only down today was not seeing Steve and Shawn breaking into the lab. I wonder if Dr Poofy Hair will inform EJ about Xander's call. I loved Abe talking to Chanel about losing Isaac and giving her comfort. And helping her voice her fears about Johnny. Kayla standing up to EJ is great. Kayla, freed from Ron, has been great. I am loving all her air time. And Sarah telling her that EJ must be up to something if he wants the hospital is very smart. She would probably clue in to the sepsis research being the big thing if she wasn't choking to death. I assume Felicity messed up the scones and dropped in cleaning fluid or something. Sarah said it tasted weird. They are never getting that honeymoon, are they? Xander has no clue what job Johnny can do. Johnny knows this too. Xander wants to legitimize his takeover by hiring a Dimera. Johnny wants to stick it to EJ. The honesty is refreshing. I want to like Cat and Chad but they are just so awkward. And none of their scenes work for me. Marlena and EJ was very good. I like her wanting to help him but also scared to death for Belle. Makes perfect sense that she is conflicted. I also liked her softly asking Johnny if he needed her to stay once EJ walked in. Ron never cared about this relationship either, but now she is acting like his granny.
