She was a lot of things and all of them were stupid. I just chalked Marty's madness up to the evil government drugs used on Todd, Victor (and Clint on the 2013 show). Marty's well, free and I'm good to go!

I can't speak to the level of depravity to include Franco, Julian and especially #Julexis in today's anniversary episode but overall, I really enjoyed it. The moments between Mac and Maxie and Elizabeth and Bobbie were my favorites. I can't remember the last time Liz and Bobbie had a scene together or discussed the rape. These episodes always have a bad habit of boiling down decades of history to "greatest hits" - like Felicia and Bobbie are "BJ's heart," Elizabeth is "rape victim" etc. but it is what it is.

The Lucy and Kevin moment was also very sad and yet beautiful at the same time. I don't mind Kevin and Laura but they're a bit vanilla. I think Lucy and Kevin make more sense as a couple but I appreciated the dialogue that "just because something doesn't last doesn't mean it wasn't beautiful." Very painful and relatable. How do we feel about a possible Lucy and Scott redux?

It will always be Kevin and Lucy. I adore Laura and I'm happy Genie and JL are happy, but the couple doesn't work long-term or dramatically IMO. Laura needs and deserves a unique new love interest all her own, an adventurous character to rival her past passions.

As for OLTL fans, here's Nora mentioning Marty at 2:18. The wardrobe dept was not kind to poor HBS.

Laura and Kevin are definitely limited together, storyline wise.

I'm good with Scott and Lucy or Lucy and Kevin. Not that it's been hinted at in any way, but I don't need another redux of Scott and Laura. That ship has long sailed, IMO. And I don't want any sort of Scott/Ava/Kevin/Laura quad either ... (again not saying it's happening, just hoping it won't)

I agree Laura needs her own unique love interest, but I like Laura and Kevin together. Nothing earth shattering but too good actors and nice rapport. Long-term? I agree it's not sustainable but I guess they could be a 'tentpole' couple.

A serial killer named Ben is walking around "redeemed" in Salem ... so ... lol. Psychotic breaks are just usually poorly conceived plot devices and then brushed under the rug ...

Laura and Kevin are fine as a placeholder for the moment, or as triangle/quad fodder with Lucy and a new man fo Laura. But that'd require GH to invest in hiring a new male of a certain age for Genie Francis, which, good luck.

That said, I have no patience for more Scott/Lucy or especially Scott/Laura as romances. They're fine interacting as friends or cohorts, but the romance angle is so dead in both cases.

A massive mind-altering government conspiracy storyline also surrounded the plot which featured Marty's breakdown (during which she knew too much about said conspiracy). Since that same story even spun into Clint's own drug-induced breakdown on the PP show I have no problem pinning it all on the Illuminati!

It's simply the blazer she debuted in two years ago. GH is known to reuse wardrobe, we all know this! I think HBS might just be a touch heavier than she was in 2017 (not said to shame her) so it is what it is unfortunately.

Also, this promo is still fantastic and holds up.

Agreed, it is shameful. The pink blazer Genie has on in her opening credits promo shot is, on the other side of things, a bit too big, no? See below. Would a show like this really not have someone tailoring clothes?

Oh yes, trying to get into any soap from scratch starting post-2010 would be hard. I prefer to go back to the good ol' days, before the decline.
    • Can we talk about how iconic the 1994 tornado was on AMC? I was scanning through old episodes last night and came across this episode. The tornado was epic and the storylines/aftermath were so good (Julia's scar/Noah!; Jenny/Ray/Nola/Jesse in heaven with Tad, etc).  For 1994, these special effects and budget for this big event were amazing. 10 out of 10!  The only thing missing is Erica!  I can't recall where Erica was at the time, but I really wish she had been involved in this storyline.

    • On the way to her own engagement party? I've read that the show had trouble getting the audience to sympathize with Rita, but...that seems bizarre. Maybe I can understand the issue with the censors, given that at the time, rape wasn't depicted the way it is now, and marital rape was even less acknowledged.  Wasn't Chris Brooks' rape one of the first honest stories on the subject? I just don't think I could get into a show I didn't have a working knowledge of. I know it's a different era, but I really tried to get into GH once Maura West joined, but it just never jelled.
    • Yes it was! My mom and I convinced my dad to get one. He was--how shall I put this?--on the thrifty side, but one day he came home with one as a surprise. To this day, I'm convinced it fell off a truck. (He knew people with "connections."

) BUT, we had our VCR and we could watch our soaps. That thing lasted forever! It was built like a tank. Even when we got new ones with more features, we kept that one.

Blasphemy!  (Haha, I get it.  But, you should try watching AMC! 80s-90s was so good.)
    • I thought about saying how I resented the fact that those two newbies were tripping up the Puppetmaster of all Puppetmasters, when the best others could do was a stalemate (or less...). But, well...*sigh*
    • I read years ago that both Zaslow and Lenore both complained that it came off as a seduction because of CBS censors, so Lenore asked if she could say, "you raped me" to leave no doubt with the audience, and that Zaslow insisted that Holly's rape played realistically
    • Wow it’s official, Gatwa is out… https://www.avclub.com/ncuti-gatwa-addresses-doctor-who-finale-statement DW fandom on Reddit is in a furor over how things went down and apparent last minute scrapping of the original ending. Also…Billie Piper again really?
    • He comes pretty close, talkin' about how Reva is full of love and joy, blah blah....which is bilge considering he was the one responsible for throwing her out of Josh's life over working with Alan.
    • Just watched the episode concerning Olivia's drug use and Abby's persistence, etc. Donna Mills did stellar work in this episode, as did Tonya Crowe and Brian Austin Green (Brian).
