Whereas Politico actually leads in getting this right, amazingly enough:

They also had a fairly nuanced Playbook on the "stolen valor" smears against Vance, even as some of the GOP tries to spin and spin and various "reasonable" media figures nod along.

There's also a lot of "both VPs are so bad!" from the Very Serious set to try to downplay just how nasty and unhinged Vance is.

The response would be they shouldn't have chosen Walz in that case, but even though he wouldn't have been my pick, and the military stuff was a clunky error on his part, they were going to do this with whoever she chose.

Walz has gotten a pretty good response despite the weeping and gnashing over Shapiro from the Beltway. They can't really argue with how well he's been rolled out (and the military stuff is just paperwork, it's not stolen valor or lies).

Parker is one of those bitter has beens we are meant to support just because she still works at a dying paper.

NYT pushing propaganda and doing cleanup work for yet another day.

What's really astonishing is they've been sitting on it since July.

At this point, the press should just hold up giant signs that read: "WE WANT TRUMP -- AND YOU SHOULD, TOO!"  I mean, just cut to the damn chase and stop pretending they still understand the meaning of objectivity.

Sound bites can be appealing but I hope this will give people the impetus to actually read Ifill’s book, filled with insight.

If you can't click on it, it's "the paper of record" gushing over a Kid Rock hate festival. They also make sure to mention "joy," because, as a few people in the comments mentioned, they likely resented that being used to describe Harris rallies and want to co-opt.

"Plenty of us," doing such heavy lifting. The media establishment gives Vance a big hug as he spews lies and poison all over their channels and this is use as an excuse to try to shame Harris into going on Faux News.
