Look for a new character, tentatively named Timothy, to debut on Y&R in the very near future. The recurring character is described as a very good-looking “wannabe rock star dude who makes ends meet by waiting tables till he gets his break.” Strong vocal or instrumental skills were considered a huge plus in the casting call.

If people want to watch someone trying to get the "big break" in the music business, they would watch The Voice or Idol. WTF? Does anyone care about this kind of story?

Sounds horribly painful.

I cannot stop laughing about how Mal Young touted how much originality he was going to bring to a stale ole American soap and ended up doubling down on just about every soap trope there is out there.

Why do soaps keep trying the wannabe musician route? It's failed more times than it's succeeded.

I don't want to see musicians trying to make it on a soap unless its a soap about the music business. They're so limited on what they can do with the character anyway. And it never feels authentic having these supposed big stars waltz around town like it's nothing.

Agreed. Almost nothing about it ever works on a soap. Zzzzzz.

So he dumps Reed and now brings on Timothy? LOL. Oh Mal. And remember when he once said no new characters? Which # new character are we on now?
