Val and Greg -- Knots Landing. They finally got a storyline together in season 13 when Val was going to write a book about Greg, but JVA already had one foot out the door.

They may have never actually had a one-on-one scene together in the 8 years they were both of the show prior to that. How crazy is that?

This sounds very plausible.  I remember a lot of Jax/Brenda trying to thwart J&R for all the right reasons.  It just came off more hypocritical and sanctimonious even though it was supposed to be more don't make the mistakes I did.  Anyway, Carly and Brenda could of had a lot more conflict or ruled the world together outside of shared men.  The rich, spoiled, beautiful princess up against the smart, scrappy upstart that got everything basically Brenda wanted.....  Anyhow what I don't get is if Carly HATES Brenda so much why was she so thirsty for her sloppy seconds that both had very strong deep love for her?  I get Sonny because that was sorta random hookup leading to years of torture.  But Jax?  Girl please.  Brenda calls and Jax comes a runnin'...

I found a new one: Jenny and Nina on All My Children.  Greg and Enid lived near Courtland Manor, but Jenny was in New York while Nina was boffing Steve Jacobi, so they never had a significant scene together.  AMC in the 80's maintained a strict class system and it was exemplified by the fact that rich and poor characters rarely interacted; unless they fell in love.  Of course, later on, every street urchin, makeup artist, and small-town layabout had entry to the Merrick mansion.

Two major female characters on Another World that rarely crossed paths were Felicia and Vicky.  The only time I remember Felicia and Vicky being in scenes together were when Anne Heche's Vicky stole Jamie Frame away from Felicia's niece, Lisa Grady.  I don't recall Jensen Buchanan's Vicky ever having any screen time with Felicia.

They interacted a total of 4 times (5 if you count them walking past each other at the hospital.) There was there first time in 1997 at the police station, then in 1998 when Carly was helping Jason up his wardrobe game and told Brenda to go find a nice fashionable straight-jacket in her size. Then they interacted at the docks party with their catty compliments (Nice dress, nice jewelry, feel sorry for yourself Brenda.) Their last interaction was during Tony’s trial when Brenda wandered over to their table at a restaurant to tell Jason to leave Robin alone and Carly asked if she was her nanny. Lord my teenage Carly (SB) obsession is really showing. I just always found it so strange how they always kept Carly and Brenda out of each other’s orbit. I think if VM had stuck around they were gearing up to make them really go at it.

Thanks!  I knew they hardly ever interacted.  It is strange now given how many characters and relationships they have in common.  Honestly though if VM had stayed I think they probably never would have paired Sonny and Carly.  I think it would have been some variation of Jax/Brenda/Sonny til the end of time and Carly probably would have been in the AJ/Jason orbit.  Don't worry about your obsession.  I literally know exactly what 4 scenes you are talking about.  My Brenda obsession back then was real.. I did always think Brenda was kind of mean to Carly back in the day for no real reason.  Jason/Robin weren't really any of her business.  In theory in VM stayed they could have made them rivals.  Gh lost all the women in that age group in 1998-1999 and replaced them with duds (Chloe, Hannah).  That was a weird time for GH.  After KMc departed there were literally no popular mid 20's female characters besides Carly on GH for awhile.

    • It seems like they may have been going in one direction for Andre and then changed their mind. He had this player/bachelor thing going at first where he was messing with Dani, seemed to be feeling Eva, and then somehow smitten by bland Ashley of all people. I feel like Ashley was supposed to be the one that finally made him want to be with someone and settle. The way he talked her up in those earlier episodes was really confusing. The wonderful, amazing nurse Ashley and conveniently she's unattainable because she has a partner, but he can't stop thinking of her and takes these busted pics of her. It was a mess. However, it all seems to have been dropped. I honestly feel like Andre can go. That may be an unpopular opinion but I don't need his breathy final syllable to be content with BTG. It's always like "There's gotta be another wh-ahyy"
    • This is where McLaibey falls apart. It becomes clear that McTavish had not thought past Brent/Marion...so the energy drops and she starts throwing things at the wall (Blakes twins, Lonatrat.)   Fans HATED this funeral. Everyone is mad at everyone else, which is fine, the death of a beloved community figure would give people a reason to come together...(Quint and Nola could come together at least for  a bit to support each other, Nola and VAn could finally admit they kinda, sorta like each other) Its just an example of McTavish's mean writing.   I have a feeling they were going to make Dahlia Frank's kid but they chickened out. Making Tina a prostitute didn't help, they could have been lovers when they were young but felt society pressure to part. Marcus took over David's role (you can't have two young black men at that time...)   Get used to it...this will happen, the same storyline over and over until the end.
    • Does anyone happen to have a recording or any footage of Jennifer’s funeral?
    • It's such a shame that the conflict couldn't be resolved in a mature way between the two actors.. especially since Albee was a bigger asset for the show in terms of character and his popular will they/won't they pairing with Deborah Saxon. One of the things about Edge was that it was just as popular with male viewers as it was with women.  It's one of things I think the show forgot in the final year or two with the deemphasis on the male characters.

Diana Colville Is that because of the bad DAYS retcon of her being Leo Stark's mother? All of the rest, CO-SIGN!

    • I don't really care about what the men are wearing, or not wearing.   What I care about is focusing on the writing and character development for each of the male characters. Andre really doesn't have a lot of character development that sets him apart from the other male characters except that he seems content to be degraded and mistreated by the elitist Dani.  I would like to know why a good looking younger guy like Andre would willingly be at the mercy of an emotional vampire such as Dani.   Martin, on the other hand, seems to have decent character development.. and it is partly due to how the actor chooses to recite his lines.  Martin was raised in a very privileged household and probably went to the best schools... so it makes sense that he would come across as thinking he was above everyone else.  Most people raised in a upper class situation as the Duprees would view themselves as better than others (it's the same trait Dani seems to employ on those she feels superior to). It makes me wonder how Nicole came out of that family being so warm and nurturing  when her family dynamics seemed very appearance oriented.
    • I know, right. I after just re-reading the thread, I'm like ooppph!
