I was a bit surprised they didn't use it to relaunch Monday's (putting Mom at 9PM on Mon followed by Murphy, or vice versa) but cushioned Thursday at 9:30 makes sense. It's kept Life in Pieces alive, which would likely collapse on it's own.

 

I'm not really sure what to expect for the ratings. I know a good portion of the audience will whine up a storm about the politics, but to be fair, if you watch a show like Murphy Brown you should know what you're going to get. It could really go either way. I hope it can succeed. It sadly has never repeated well.

Diane English apparently chose to ignore a late season development she didn't create, namely 

 

the Corky/Miles relationship. Or at least they're not together anymore.

Ok. Maybe I'm a *little* excited.

I like that Murphy is shooting in New York for some reason. Must have taken over the soundstage where Kevin James's sitcom failure took place. His shot in New York somewhere (EDIT: I believe it's the same place). I'm gonna try hard to get back to New York and attend a taping. Just got a ticket for the 24th but it may be cutting it too close for me.

 

I wanted to see Roseanne last year but I guess that was for the best ... haven't gotten to attend a sitcom taping yet (GMA and The View are as far as I've gotten)

In one of the interviews English said they did not want to try to recreate the character and that he would be honored in some way.
