I didn't know that, DD, but once again, I'm not surprised.

He only denied charges of "non-consensual sex" but basically remained silent about the individual accusations by specific actresses until Lupita.

I notice that.

Is he that stupid to not know how that is going to look?

Old habits die hard?  He's been getting away with atrocious behavior for so long, he still seems to cling to the notion that he can still wield power over someone.

And who better to wield power over than a PERSON OF COLOR.

Just...disgusting on so many levels.

Affleck rescues stray puppy

Affleck and Jennifer Garner attended church together

you know these PR firms are not even trying to be subtle anymore and people will still eat up these obvious ploys

Terri Conn (ATWT, OLTL) is among the women who have come forward to accuse writer-director James Toback of sexual harassment.

I'm glad they're being named and shamed. They need the power that they wielded/threatened others with, taken away.

As I said before, I'd be glad to see them all swept out like the dirtbags that they are.

I actually had to look up Toback on IMDB.

I'm sick with grief over just how pervasive this sort of behavior is within the film and TV industry.

Meanwhile, does anyone else think someone working at one of the soaps or the networks will be outed as a serial sexual predator?  Because, I'm getting the feeling that one of the PTB will be "named and shamed" sooner rather than later.

I think most of the people in the soap industry who may have behaved that way are probably out of it now. Or dead.

I had no idea Toback had such a known history of these accusations. And yet only now are they getting notice. It seems like so much was a festering and open secret until recently.

James Toback's The Gambler (the original with James Caan, not the remake) is an incredible film. That being said these stories do not entirely surprise me, based on some of the films he's made in the last twenty years. Just vile.

I finally remembered where I knew his name from. That movie, Fingers, where the Jim Brown character smashes the heads of two women together. Maybe that should have told us something...

It's actually pervasive in a whole lot of industries.

True.  However, the fact that it's happening within this particular industry hits me hard, because it's the one industry I've always wanted to be a part of.

The bright side is social media seems to finally be changing things, although it's disturbing about how open these secrets and how many seemed to just shrug and think well, that's the industry.

I also have to wonder if these things are still going on with more well-liked, more connected types even amidst these reveals, and we just aren't hearing about it because they know where the bodies are buried.

Heather Kerr is another actress (former actress) who has come forward about Harvey. I was wondering if I'd seen her before, and it turns out she played a young Eunice on Mama's Family:
