Cassandra was definitely the most exotic beauty the show has had (maybe Mari Jo being close too) Something the show has lacked for years, and sadly will never bring a character like her  on the show again...

Exactly. Loved Cassandra to bits. Also loved Mari Jo. Both were fascinating women with their flaws, complex and totally intriguing.

I must say overall, that Y&R's entire female cast in the old days were just more appealing and mature looking (in a good way) then the ones we have now...it's really sad.

Thanks.

Watching this you'd think Eric was one of Ashley's great loves, but I guess he wasn't around that long.

I had forgotten about Eric and his history. He sure was a hunk. At first I thought it was Nicholas Walker in the role.

Cassandra ruled!  Faren was awful and poor Andy was stuck with her.

CanadaTV search for that. It's $1.99 a month. There's a UKTV too.

Thanks!! Appreciate it!!

I've only seen bits of Marc but he always seems a bit silly to me, more like something from Dynasty. I guess he hung around for a number of years though.

I couldn't stand Marc and his pairing with Ashley....ewww...

I finally watched it today on the CBS site (couldn't believe all the commercials for their own network) and got to see what all of you did on Friday.  I didn't start watching Y&R for a few more years.  The first episode I can actually remember watching was a costume ball where David Kimball (?) was killed in a trash compactor.  It was fun to see the first Jill and a very young Ashley.  The writers need to use some of this background for those of us who weren't around in the beginning.

Speaking of Stuart Brooks, I remember reading on the defunct media domain boards years ago that Robert Colbert and Bill Bell had a falling out. Robert complained about his lack of storyline. I think Stuart was supposed to be part of the wedding, possibly being the one walking Nikki down the aisle.

I think there was also storyline where Stuart was seeing Gina and Liz was jealous that got dropped in early 1983.

It's generally a grubby looking cast - many of the older women are the ones holding the glamour together, as much as they can. The men tend to look dirty and many of the women look cheap and burnt out.

I know this is the Y&R thread, but I always was amused by the irony that the name of the woman who was rival to Nina Arvesen's Angela Raymond on Santa Barbara for Warren Lockridge's love was also named Cassandra.

I think I just peed myself.

I HATED Mari Jo.

Diana Barton was solid (though better suited to a P&G soap) but that whole story was horrible.
