If you don't click on the Instagram photo, just so there's no confusion, the actress joining Days is the "other" Vanessa Williams (not the singer/former Miss America).

It's always been confusing with these two. The Miss America, per SAG-AFTRA, is supposed to be billed as Vanessa L. Williams I think. The "Days" actress is just known as Vanessa Williams.

The one that got hired is Vanessa A. Williams. That should make things less confusing

I actually love her and have since Candyman and MP, but she's a little young for the part.

Now all they have to do is hire Doug Savant as a very much alive Will Horton.

she's 12 years younger then Valerie's originator, Tina Andrews

She is a dull average actress. So she should fit well with the cast and Days.

Will she be a funky aerobics instructor?

This makes no sense. The character should be in the 65+ age range, maybe a little below that just to give some room for casting. This actress is only in her early 50s and will be playing a character that was an adult back in the 70s. This is as nutty as the de-SOARS of Carly's son (who had been aged too much in the previous incarnation).
