I hope they're not tied to Neil or the Winters family - you can have more than one black family on a soap that aren't connected, you know...

It would be nice to see a Senior Couple come on without any ties but when was the last time this has happened on a daytime soap?  Hopefully they won't be homeless because Bell soaps love to make new Black characters either homeless or illiterate.

Sounds like a good fit. This would be a smart move. B&B has shown that "that black storyline" can be must-see-tv with actors of a certain age when they introduced Mr. and Mrs. Avant.

The casting sounds like Mr. and Mrs. Avant 2.0

Yes! I hate that mess. Why can't Black families be solid and upper-class on soaps?

I think the Michaelsons could've been so much more, but they had to have the father in prison and the deceased mother be the wh*re of some whack job politician.

I do hope this older couple leads to a new family coming on the canvas.

it's possible a new family could be coming, don't UK soaps do that

UK soaps introduce families the same way we do. Sometimes, they might bring a few characters of the family on to gauge how the audience likes them before bringing on the rest, or sometimes they just bring them all at once.

I'm surprised they haven't brought in the Santori family

For sure, these are Mal Young hirings.  I can't see Pratt writing for anyone who's over 40 (or Black).

Moreover, I'm pleased that Y&R is being specific about these new characters' ethnicities.  If this were DAYS, the casting breakdown would likely read: "must be African-American, Serb-Croatian or registered member of the Meskwaki (Fox) tribe."  Because, they're all the same, you know?

Walter and Lillie Belle are dropping in for a visit.

Could that actually be the case though??....maybe they didn't want to reveal their real names?
